Hip replacement
I am looking to hear from anyone with A Fib who has had a
hip
replacement
operation. Did you have any problems, were there any concerns about doing the operation from the doctors? Please let me know of your experience. Thank you.

hip replacement soon
my hematologist wants me to get my platelets under 400 for my surgery so I had to up my hydroxyurea to every day instead of 4 a week. He’s ok with them in the 500 range but thinks it’s better for them to be lower for surgery. He says I can cut back after a month after surgery. I really want to stay

While I remember….
While I was sharing a four bay ward post
hip
replacement
, two ladies - who had a total knee replacement and the other a half knee replacement - told me that although, like me, they had a spinal block plus sedation they both could hear the sawing and hammering and what the surgeons were saying…. but

Total Knee Replacement Finally
I know it’s harder to recover from than
hip
replacement
, but I am not worried. It’s hurt for 20years so what does 1 more year matter? I guess the other one will need doing at some point, and as I’ve just turned 52 it isn’t ideal.

Fybro the answer to everything?
This apparently was flagged already when I had a chest xray after my second
hip
replacement
, 4 years ago. No one ever told me this. I spent 4 years with this pain and all that time the hospital knew but nothing was said.

Most efficient way to increase folate?
I did continue my supplements but had to stop them ahead of a
hip
replacement
on August. Since then I’ve been a bit lax in taking my supplements. (New kitchen , different layout, out of sight etc!).

Almost there... Couch2 5k!
Back in January I signed up for a 5k run which is this Sunday! I had 2 hip replacements in 2019 and hadn't run a step since then. The first runs were horrid, my legs felt like cement weights. Now I'm doing 30 min runs, only to find out on the track today that I only did 2 miles in 30 min! Not sure where

post traumatic stress/ anxiety
Had a unexpected fall while alone & broke femur: resulted in partial
hip
replacement
. Then my husbands multiple myeloma returned & COVID. I isolated for his sake & before I knew it I had panic attacks every night, depression & anxiety. Tried different meds, which only made me too sleepy to drive.

running after hip replacement - contd
I wrote a few days ago about my first post-op run. I had waited ten months but was reluctant to go back to square one so had started on week four. It went OK but the consensus seemed to be I should go back a bit. Setting off for run two I looked at the plans for earlier weeks but both mind and body rebelled

Partial knee replacement
I’ve had a total
hip
replacement
so I know that exercises are key to a good recovery but any advice/reassurance would be much appreciated.

Bone met pain
The big area is my left
hip
socket area. I had a
hip
replacement
of the right
hip
a few years ago and need the left one done now. However, with the mets there, it may not be possible. The socket is reamed out to one mm smaller than the artificial socket and then banged in.

Hip replacement + 3 weeks; ms at bay
Doing so great. I've been walking w/o a cane this week. Now I just need to walk and walk and stay mobile. Such a good feeling. MS stayed at bay - last Ocrevus infusion was in Jan 2022. I got the green light from the surgeon and post-surgery infusion is scheduled for Dec 1st. My bad hip used to be

Request sedation for a cortisone injection
So today I got some more bad news. I had my hip replacements checked as my newest one has been causing me a lot of pain. On my CT it showed that I have arthritis in my sacroiliac joint. Yet again, another joint that is either dysplastic or has arthritis. Did I mention I had two hip replacements at 25

Pmr v arthritis
I have severe arthritis in
hip
and am awaiting
hip
replacement
. Anyway the last few weeks I have been getting terrible pain in both thighs but thought it was down to the arthritis. I have now got mild pain back in my shoulders and I’m wondering if the pain in my thighs could be down to PMR?

Advice welcome PMR
I thought the pain in my thighs is due to having severe arthritis in my
hip
and waiting a
hip
replacement
. I then wondered if the pain in my thighs could be down to PMR? Yesterday I went for 1mg to starting to take 7mg? Should this be ok or should I start back in the 15mg?
