Hip Replacement

He’s met with orthopaedic consultants who have suggested that he can have an emergency hip replacement. Obviously there are major risks, the main being a high risk of infection. Has anyone had a hip replacement with this level of extensive spread? Thanks Jo x

Plated pelvis at that time. 2011 right hip replacement. Now as they warned him, his left hip may need replaced. We are going next Thursday to ortho surgeon.Has anyone here had hip replacement while on ADT and HT? Wondering if it makes the surgery or recovery more difficult.

my rheumy says more prone to infection from surgery when on prednisone, 7 weeks of methotrexate injections now, no relief so havent tried to taper pred, still at 4 mgs, surgery date Feb 20th, orthopaedic surgeon says must stop methotrexate 2 weeks prior, had hoped to be able to taper from 4 mgs pred

Having a hip replacement operation started a nightmare for me, I have restless legs for 15years but it was pretty mild, now after hip operation, I feel like a zombie. I cannot get any sleep its there during day sometimes.

I am scheduled for hip replacement in October. I had my other hip replaced before being diagnosed with CLL and did great! My oncologist has cleared me for the surgery but I am Just a little more concerned about recovery with CLL. I will be coming off Ibrutinib for about 2 weeks.

Hello everyone, I will be going into hospital on 2nd August for a hip replacement op and am not sure about my steroid dose before I go in. They have asked me to be there at 12.30. I am currently alternating between 6 and 6 and a half mgs per day.

hello All I just had a new hip replacement on Friday. All went well. I know I am not supposed to take anti inflammatory with my prednisone. Can I just stop taking the anti inflammatory ? This is my second hip replacement but I wasn’t on pred last year.

I'm having a total hip replacement done on the leg I suffer RLS virtually every night.I don't take medication at the moment, due to fears of side effects. I fear twitching after my operation even more though. Can anyone recommend what worked for them against RLS?

has anyone had a hip replacement and been far worse afterwards. Sooo depressed. Not sleeping. In constant pain. 50 times worse. Original pain but with many more in different areas. I’m sure the physio did me some harm. Anyone else had this.

& this year, I have just had a hip replacement! I was put on extremely strong Zapain to cope with the pain in my hip as it was bone on bone. After the first week I felt no pain after my hip replacement, so I stoped my Zapain & codeine the hospital had given me!

I need your advice, recommendations, and comments in general for anyone with Parkinson's who has had hip replacement (or arthroscopic) surgery.

As I have developed a stooped bent back owing to spinal fratures, rheaumatiod arthritis, recent hip replacement can anyone recommend a back brace or a posture corrector ,there are so many on line hard to choose especially if you don't know what your looking for ,can anyone help I also have spinal stenosis
