Private dexa scan
My mother has arthritic hips and knees which resulted in a double
hip
replacement
a decade ago. Is it worth getting a dexa scan now? If it is; is there anywhere in the South West I can get one done privately?

operation steroid taper
Hi all, so I have managed to get down to 5.5 after raising for a week to 10 as thought I was having a flare. It’s difficult to tell if the pain in thighs is a flare or due to the arthritis in my
hip
. I’m having a
hip
replacement
at the end of next month.

Neuro Behcet's and surgery.
If it turns out to be neuro Behcet's, as I have a diagnosis of Behcet's anyway, I'm wondering if it may affect my
hip
replacement
at the end of November. I know you cannot give medical advise but I was just wondering if anyone else has not been able to have surgery because of this. TIA.

Hip replacement
Hello I think I have to have a
hip
replacement
. I find it hard with polymyalgia to move my legs without stiffness even with the steroids. So I'm wondering if anyone has had a new hip whilst suffering and how it affects recovery with exercises? Any advice welcome. Thanks

When does it go?!
I had
hip
replacement
in Feb 22…by Oct 22 I could not get out of bed….had to roll off onto the floor and loosen those muscles for around an hour or so. Tired all the time, sore in the glutes, hip area, neck and shoulders.

Hip Replacement and RA
Hi Everyone, I am 4 weeks, 3 days post op after a
hip
replacement
. Whilst I'm doing great and getting out for daily walks ect, my non-operative leg is swollen from my knee to the ankle. Both knees are painful and I have difficulty bending them.

dad has advanced prostate cancer
At this point he’s 83, it’s in a few ribs,
hip
(he had
hip
replacement
a few years ago), clavicle, base of skull, spinal areas, spots on lung and liver. I think i covered it all. I feel like he’s at the end stages bc he’s not eating, he calls for help often even when he needs nothing.

Running after Hip Replaced
Hi, unfortunately after completing the program I had to have a total
hip
replacement
. I have been told that due to this my running days are over ( not that I was actually much of a runner…more a very slow jogger!) but I just wondered what other people’s experiences are?

Advice please
I have a history of osteoarthritis with a full
hip
replacement
5 years ago. Tiredness increasing as years went on so with this diagnosis and prescription I felt hopeful and a bit vindicated for my constant not feeling 100% and my constant moaning too!

Failing ADT
I guess more radiation is an outside possibility but I think that train has already run as I am getting
hip
replacement
surgery on Wednesday because the 2 previous times my
hip
was radiated caused necrosis (lack of blood flow).

Pred dose post hip operation
I’ve paused tapering for my
hip
replacement
, which was done on 10 February. The hospital increased my dose to 3mg for 48 hours over the surgery, and now I’m back on 1.5mg. The complicating factor is that I have a very volatile blood pressure, and actually suffered an aneurysm in 2005.
