Another possible spasticity drug
It is suggested that a possible enhancement by DVS of gamma aminobutyric acid-ergic postsynaptic inhibition of motor reflex arc in the spinal cord may represent a new nonsedating, management approach for spasticity as a result of traumatic spinal cord and

How can I manage constant exhaustion?
Hi girls, Hope you're all having a good week so far. This weeks been dreadful for me, I'm in pain 24/7 and no pain relief seems to be working for me, and I feel constantly tired all the time. I've been drinking a lot of water and going to sleep for 6-8 hours, I know that on 6 hours sleep I am bound

Louis Theroux, a review
The 'documentary' in it's own way managed to hit upon the true nature of a huge proportion of
head
injuries
without even realising it. It focused (possibly rightly) on desperately sad cases, the evidence was clear to see in all of them. And there lies the problem, in microcosm.

Not been feeling too good
You may remember I mentioned my friend who sustained serious
head
injuries
in a road accident when he came off his motorbike. Well, although he was initially showing good signs of recovery, he took a turn for the worse & passed away early Thursday morning.

Calf muscle strain ends Week 6 r2 early
My right calf muscle tightened during my Week 6 r1 and I've been doing lots of stretching, rubbing Deep Heat and foam rolling since. Unfortunately during my second 10-minute run today it gave me really hot pain and I had to stop running. I managed to walk the rest of the way back to complete the podcast

Fears of Oral Cancer
Hello, all. I've been pretty free from anxiety for a couple of months, but as always it seems to be rearing its ugly head. I can't shake the idea that I have oral cancer. I have 3 canker sores currently, and it seems as though another might be forming.... Having this constant pain in my mouth is seriously

Hello world...
That said, his injury was much more severe and I'd be interested to hear experiences from people who have had more minor
head
injuries
like mine. Apologies for the rambling post. I am quite a complex case, even my GP has told me that!

Updates, Runs, Crosstraining, Weightlossing and Graphs + stuff
The author then said that shows that more expensive shoes cause more
injuries
, I was shouting in my
head
(I can do that..) that maybe people who had more
injuries
went out and got more expensive shoes, cause and effect, there was nothing to prove it one way or the other mentioned in the book.

One Year on Today. Wow what a journey.
The moto cross accident was one of the worst on the track not for physical
injuries
but for mental ones, I hit my
head
on the back and the brain hit the front of my scull causing 3 brain bleeds and I was out for 4.08 minutes.

First post-grad run postponed - uh oh, dodgy hip :(
Uh oh, not sure the graduation sprint finish was such a bright idea... Since Sunday night have been suffering with a touch of niggly hip and upper thigh/groin pain, especially when climbing stairs or after sitting at my desk for long periods. Was due to run today, and I really, really want to, but

NEED DEEP HEAT!!
In hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have done my W2R2 after my hours dynamic hot yoga session… I thought it would be a good warm up to warm my muscles right through. I was also very diligent with my post run warm down and stretch but I could hardly walk yesterday! A touch better today but I'm supposed to

New to the site
Hello Everyone, I"m new to this even though I was diagnosed with PBC through blood tests and a liver biopsy in October 2012. After the initial shock and horror and then having my wonderful doctor to guide me through this and of course, three years on, I am doing well. The reason I'm just joining this

Pleural rub
Hi. I had a Pleurodesis using Talc when I was 16, I am now 37 and have been having these symptoms, which I can only describe as Pleural Rub, on and off for about 10 years. I was just wondering if anyone else, who has had a similar operation, are experiencing the same thing? Thanks,

Sport after a Head Injury
Reading Cat's post on being asked to participate in a study, reminded me ( :-) ) I was asked to participate in a questionnaire on what "sport" people with
head
injury and complex neurological
injuries
would like to participate in.

Salty Taste in Mouth
Has anyone experienced a salty taste in your mouth. I feel as though I'm permanently trying to get rid of a seawater taste. I'm on carboplatin and paclitaxel and wonder if anyone recognises this as a side effect or perhaps has any other logical explanation. I am definitely not dehydrated as I drink

Long term carer
Headway locally was in its very early days and there was little support around because they weren't that used to people actually surviving such severe
injuries
. My advice to everyone who suffers a
head
injury due to an accident is to get a good solicitor as quickly as possible.
