T3 and insulin resistance?
I have been diagnosed with insulin resistance (fasting blood glucose and insulin levels in range but close to upper normal limit). Symptoms are difficulty losing weight (I'm overweight), cravings and increased appetite. My doctor suggested Metformin, but I preferred to try a supplement instead and opted

2 weeks post loading doses update
Hi all, I wanted to write an update. There are a lot of horror stories online but I wanted to share some positives. Something to note is that although I am slightly anemic, my B12 deficiency was caused by long term metformin use. My symptoms were intense and mostly neurological, wide spread numbness

Do I have a fungal infection?
For about a month on and off my two big toes have been extremely itchy. If I keep scratching long enough I get this two dots that start to bleed. I also have developed a red/dry skin patch on my leg. I am type 2 diabetic and take metformin for it.

Late period is it Metformin? Should I stop?
Hello I normally have regular periods every 26 days and i started taking metformin exactly 7th December 2018 ( a month ago). I took my first pill on cycle 2 of my period. I had a scan last week to confirm I have PCOS on my left ovary and i had a small fibroid bit it's so small not to worry about it.

One step forwards, two steps back!
Had my rheumy appointment on Monday. Should have had it in October but it was moved. Got down to 5mg of Pred for about 4 months over the summer but beginning of October my hands started hurting, then wrists now shoulders and neck. Put myself up to 7 mg then 8 mg now 9mg. Still waking with stiffness but

Hi guys I had the implant a few years back then I moved onto the pill and got pregnant with my son. After I had him I went back on the implant but was then given metformin to see if it could help me loose weight I've now been off it over a month but I'm getting irregular periods. When it starts I bleed

Advice on a correct dose of vitamin B12
Before I was taking 1000 mcg of B12 to maintain my levels of around 800. In September I started taking Metformin and I upped my dose to 2000 mcg knowing it lowers B12. Just had my levels checked and currently it is: Serum vitamin B12 level 532 ng/L [160 - 800] Any suggestions on what dosage should I

Chocolate
I am concerned about how much chocolate is eaten by my friend who has had diabetes 2 for several years. He takes Metformin 3 times a day and as his checks are alright, he thinks it is okay to indulge. Is he right in this assumption?

For the first year, mild side effects of ADT: hot flashes, shrinkage of "the boys", etc. But starting

Hi I have PCOS and they can prescribe metformin. I was just wondering what people’s experiences with it were? Have you lost weight? Has it helped fertility? Xxx

What is the efficacy index of T2 meds on BS level.
Can one quantify the effect of 500mg Metformin on Blood Sugar level ? for eg. If one consumes say 1 glass cola and after 2 hrs the BS level is 250 so if one takes 1 tab of 500mg Metformin then by how much will the BS level come down, is there any study on this aspect of Metformin and other such T2 meds

Metformin and Valproic Acid Has a Greater Anti-tumoral Effect on PCa Growth In Vivo than Either Drug Alone.
New mouse study below [1]. From Wikipedia [2]: "Valproate (VPA), and its valproic acid, sodium valproate, and valproate semisodium forms, are medications primarily used to treat epilepsy and bipolar disorder and to prevent migraine headaches." "Valproate was first made in 1881 and came into medical use
