I had the implant a few years back then I moved onto the pill and got pregnant with my son. After I had him I went back on the implant but was then given metformin to see if it could help me loose weight I've now been off it over a month but I'm getting irregular periods. When it starts I bleed for two weeks on n off n then having nothing for two weeks. Is this normal?

I'm on metaformin and it has been prescribed for my PCOS but to help trigger ovulation. As it's there to essentially eliminate excess sugar from the body it is supposed to regulate hormones and give a regular period.
However as you've now stopped there could be some time before your body adjusts.
Usually its better to wean yourself off it so your body adjusts better so I am not surprised your body is a bit confused at the mo.
They believe you are born with PCOS and can flow down the male and female line as an endocrine disorder and not ovary related, they are considering changing the name as very misleading. They are pretty sure both my husband and son are carriers of it so we are one hairy family lol.
