Hi guys, My name is Lucy I'm 26, I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 18. I have a 4 year old little girl who was conceived naturally and shock but had a miscarriage at 9 weeks previous to that which I believe was conceived with help of metformin. I have been trying to conceive with husband for last

Happy anniversary - trick or treat
A year ago on Halloween I was working late at my office when I saw the MyCharts posting of my pelvic MRI report from the test taken a day previously. I had a 36 PSA, and the Urologist seemed concerned after the DRE, but I did not expect what I read, and I got this before a doctor had the chance to explain

Can starting metformin mess up your cycles?
Hi ladies, Ive been started on metformin this month to help regulate my ovulation as I normally ovulate day 21 of 30 day cycles. Im currently day 33 and no sign of period, did a pregnancy test this morning and its negative. Ive been on metformin for a week and a half, any idea if this could be the reason

The body - why does it play these tricks on us?
Hi lovely ladies, Currently cycle day 33, normally bang on 30 day cycle. Still no sign of period. Did a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative 😔 don’t know why I was expecting anything different. I have started both sertraline for my mental health and metformin to help regulate my ovulation

Metformin and possible Lactic acidosis
Hubby had his 3rd PSA checked and again Non detectable! But. Recently has been having achy joints we chalked it to the ADT but he is also on Metformin XR because of research we found supporting it while you are on ADT. I had a blood test done for Lactic acid it was 2.7 range is 0.6 -2.4 so he is going

Metformin
Can we discuss Metformin? Appears to me that many women have higher male hormones (of course) after menopause and there might be a link to Levothyroxine not working as well after menopause. Weight gain or harder to lose weight, thickening etc. and higher sugar levels also appears to come with age

PSA stable? Good? Bad?
My dad just got his PSA results today right before starting his 2nd infusion of taxotere. His PSA has stayed stable. It is sitting at 20 exactly what it was 3wks ago right before his first infusion. Is this good? Bad? I am disappointed that it hasn’t gone down, but very thankful that it’s not doubling

Diabetes under control - weh hey!
Today I had my 6 monthly diabetes check up, after having blood tests last week. I was diagnosed with type 2 about 7 years ago and for 5 or so years my sugar was all over the place, even with metformin. Then I started walking and watching my diet. I'm by no means a diet freak - I still have a slice of

Metformin for PCO not PCOS - is this right?
Hi lovely ladies, I had an appt with NHS gynae yesterday r.e infertility. I have been TTC for 14months, all blood tests normal, hysteroscopy normal, ultrasound scan normal apart from polycsistic ovaries. He has put me on the waiting list for a HSG as this is the final piece to the investigation puzzle

Here's an interesting question (I think) for the more technical members of this group. the three items listed on the title, have shown some evidence of anticancer activity, if not in real life conditions, at least in vitro experiments. these compounds come from very different sources, yet they do

Sudden increase in heart rate
After two failed cardioversions and two failed ablations, the third ablation finally got me back into normal sinus rhythm in March of this year. An ECG in June plus a 24 hour monitor, confirmed that NSR was 'normal'. As a consequence, my dosage of Bisoprolol was reduced from 2.5 mg twice daily to 2.5

A snippet from a life changing read
This morning I wrote a very long post explaining the transformation I have made. Tried to post it and an error occurred 🤬 included in my post was the snippet I have posted from a life changing book ( for me anyway) I have had type 2 diabetes for nearly 20 years, I was on metformin, alogliptin and dapagliflozine

Same symptoms
So I go for some bloodwork tomorrow. This is good because I'm having some of the same symptoms as before. I'm becoming heated again, retaining water and the scale is going up. Only 2 lbs but when I was losing it would flicker on a lower number than it settled on, now it flickers higher. I'm still having

Enzalutamide NFG* for me. Clinical trials beckon.
* NFG = No good. I finished up 9 cycles of docetaxal in July in a chemo-resistant state and started on Enzalutamide. Unfortunately Enza has done absolutely nothing. No impact on disease progression at all. I remain on Zolodex of course and MO added metformin and statins to my cocktail of drugs to
