Why might my T4 be going up and T3 going down, on the same T4 dose?
Hi all, I feel like I am going round in circles with my thyroid :-(. I've been on 100mcg T4 for 1.5 years. My results had not changed in a year and were as follows last November: TSH: 0.01 (0.27 - 4.2) T4: 16.3 (12 - 22) T3: 4.6 (3.1 - 6.8) Then I experimented with night-time dosing over 6 weeks, but

I finally got my MO to (reluctantly) write the Metformin prescription for me. She gave me 500mg dose. I know from the comments that I need to scale up to approx 2000mg over the next several weeks. Almost immediately after taking the 500mg dosage (with food), the next day I felt a little sore in my

Can metformin start causing side effects after you have been taking it for a long time?
I have been taking metformin since this past summer but for the past few months, I have been having really bad shortness of breath to the point of it being painful. I also just found out that metformin can cause b12 deficiency as well as shortness of breath. I will be having my b12 levels checked later

Do I need to go to hospital?!
Since Friday I’ve been getting stomach pain. Friday night I was vomitting and Sunday night I was vomitting. I am never sick at all I’m currently taking 2 metformin tablets a day only because taking more will make me seriously ill. I have told my consultant but he just ignored me🙏🏻. Other symptoms

ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium (postdiagnostic Metformin and Statin use & PCa mortality)
Note that one should be clear that Metformin users & Statin users represent populations that may have PCa risks quite different from the general PCa population. For instance, while diabetics have a reduced risk of PCa, they have increased PCa mortality risk, albeit lowered in Metformin users. Studies

Please help...
Hi all I would be grateful for any advice please. My symptoms are: Fatigue, muscle/joint pain, can't get warm, no sex drive, puffy eyes in am, no weight loss since June 2017 and occational palpitations. My diet is nutritious but as I have PCOS so calorie intake is 1365 which should enable weight loss

Opinion on radiation to bone mets.
My husband, Jeff, is Stage 4 metastatic, G9 with 11 bone mets. History : RP 9/13/17 (PSA was 52), pathology showed "involvement" in two of the four lymph nodes that were removed. First ADT injection was 9-27-17 (Eligard). This was all that could/should be done according to the urologist/surgeon.

Change of medication
Hi I'm type 2 have been on 500g Metformin for 6 years. My nurse changed my perscription to Sukkarto SR 500g . I've been taking them for 2 months. My weight has dropped 8 pounds! I feel so much better and my readings have improved too. Has anyone else experienced this with a change of medication?

Thinking about coming off metformin...
I was put on metformin a couple of years ago to help with my PCOS and regulate my periods. I take 1 500mg tablet a day and I’m just thinking about stopping it altogether and seeing what happens. Does anyone have any advice on this please, should I or shouldn’t I??

It's not all bad news
Hi there, Just joined. I just wanted to say some of the things that have really helped my pcos and my general health. I'm luck enough to have to young boys, both conceived after taking metformin. I've taken up running! Something I never ever thought I would be able to do, I was always last at any school

Adding PARP inhibitor (Olaparib) to the Standard Therapy (Zytiga/ADT/Prenosone)
I had an interesting and unexpected conversation with my "second opinion" MO. I went to see him regarding adding Metformin to my list of medications (He's a well known expert - more on Metformin later), but the focus of the conversation turned into adding Olaparib to my existing treatment regime of Zytiga
