The Holy Grail
Prostate cancer goes from being a chronic disease that can be controlled with ADT to a a fatal disease when it changes to CRPC. Is there a combination of supplements and drugs that can block the pathway the cancer uses to become CRPC. My bet is there is and so far I have come across 5 cases of PCa G

Help with weight gain/trouble losing from thyroid being out of whack!
Hello, I am in the US but I think thyroid issues are thyroid issues? I had a sleeve done two year and four months ago. Everything was fantastic for almost two years. In fact I was getting a little too thin. Boy what would I do to be back in that situation right now! Just before the two year mark

Periprostatic Fat
This post is prompted by a new study. For years, PCa studies have warned that obesity is associated with a poor outcome. As though a BMI < 30 is somehow protective. There have been some who have rejected BMI as a measure, preferring the waist:hip ratio. The impression has been given that the risk

Metformin and weight loss
My husband has Type 2 but has gradually brought it under control during the last 6 months. At his check-up this morning, the nurse told him his results were brilliant on all counts. However, she has still left him on the maximum dose of Metformin (2000mg per day) and, having read somewhere on the web

Second time around and no further ....
Please bear with me everyone, I have had another rubbish appointment with a GP who hasn't listened and I need to vent to people who might actually get it! When I was a kid I was perfectly normal! I had a myriad of hobbies and after school activities that I continued until I hit puberty. This was not

Non-PCa Prescription Drugs: Valproic Acid / Valproate
This is the first of a new series of posts prompted by a new Valproic Acid [VPA] study [14]. A recent population study [13] is worth noting too. It must be 6 years since my doctor turned down my request for Valproic Acid. He had just turned down my request for Metformin & I was pulling his leg by asking

Tetracycline / doxycycline / minocycline
This post is prompted by Ed Miller's: "Ten days of the antibiotic clendamycin lowered my PSA for 3 months." I remembered seeing some PCa-tetracycline studies. (No PCa hits for "Clindamycin".) The matrix metalloproteinase [MMP] family comprise enzymes that break down extracellular matrix proteins.

Being tested for coeliac but B12 low, and ferratin and now have headaches. Just started Metformin. Is there a link?
Hi new on here. I have several autoimmune disorders. I added B12 to regular full blood test, on Azathioprine and it came back 246. Rheumy said it was ok but I read I need to be nearer 300. Previous blood test showed unusual red blood cells and low haemaglobin. Also low ferratin. Recently have coeliac

Newly diagnosed - metformin offered but unsure of long term use
My daughter just got diagnosed, she is 16 years old. This was following hair loss and lack of regular periods. GP referred us to a consultant who took blood tests and then said she should go onto Dianette and asked us to come back in 3 months. The best thing she mentioned was the Verity website but
