Just wondered if any of you ladies are convinced you have the secret of holding off this disease for a while or for good. Absolute long shot I know but probably like most of us, I'm desperate to do my bit alongside conventional treatment. I had over three years from diagnosis at stage 3b to recurrence

B12 or thyroid -- or both?
Hi folks. I've been experiencing symptoms of both B12 and hypothyroidism for many years, although both are in range according to tests (I know this doesn't mean anything, but it's what the GP looks at ). The GP agreed to treat low B12 and today I'm having my 9th loading dose. I'm also self-supplementing

Hey there, I am 47 and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year. I have managed to control my condition quite well with metformin and even began to exercise early this year and lost eight pounds, but then I change my routine at work and began working on a different unit and put the weight back on

Endo, PCOS, the Mirena and Metformin
So I have been struggling with my weight for quite a while now. And with a recent diagnosis of PCOS would explain why, also having a mirena coil doesn't help as this also contribute to weight gain. I've now been put on Metformin to reduce symptoms of PCOS and help me loose weight. Anybody else been

So confused
Well, blood tests have come back as clear. Hospital still believe that my symptoms are linked and that I may be showing false negatives. The trouble is though my GP doesn't agree with hospital. The Dr in hospital wants me to come off tramadol and have gabapenten. Reason being she feels this would be

does coffee cause blood sugar levels to rise?
I have a question that I hope someone will be able to answer: I was diagnosed with insulin resistance/pre-diabetes last year. These were my levels at the time: Blood sugar (fasting) 101 (ref 70-105) Insulin 23.9 (ref 2.9-25) I was prescribed Metformin 850 x 2/day, but opted for a natural solution

If I can do it...
New to this posting thing, but just thought this might help anyone considering this but worried they are too overweight. I am 50 years old and, 5 foot 4inches tall and weighed in at 18 stone 4lb when I started. I have always been fat. I have always done classes like Zumba and swum over the years,

Any one with MODY being treated with Metformin?
I didn't inherit the MODY gene but it runs in my mothers side of the family - my brother drew the short straw and does have the MODY gene. They started off by assuming he was type 2 and put him on metformin to which he didn't respond - but did respond when switched to drugs the right drugs. I was rather

3 cm by 3cm how do I know if it burst?
At first when I went to the doctor I had 5 small cysts in each side and I went back three weeks later to find I now had one big 3cm by 3cm cyst after being put on metformin. I have been in a lot of pain lately and had this weird discharge that was thick and stringy like a mans come but it was bloody.

Left in the dark
Recently diagnosed with NASH via ultrasound. My LFT's fluctuate but are normal at the moment. A recent ultrasound found my liver to be massive (correlating to my abdominal swelling) and I have mild bilateral lower limb oedeama with idiopathic lymphoedema in my left leg. I have many risk factors BMI 37
