Keto recipe recommendations
Hi guys! I’m looking for some tried and tested keto recipes. I use the diet doctor but some of the recipes I’ve tried taste absolutely awful. Someone kindly gave the recipe for 4-minute keto crackers which were divine with some cream cheese! So does anyone have any other keto recipes that they have tried

Not a great few days
Got on the scales to discover that I have put on over a stone so time to embrace a low carb / low sugar diet I think! Have also bought a Fitbit so it will be interesting to track my sleep patterns. Also, last ‘visit’ to rheumatologist did not go well. I got a text a few days ago to say that it would

DEXA Dilemma - Round 2!
Warning! Long post, so grab a cup of tea/coffee first. This will either make you laugh or cry. You may need a Hobnob half way through to sustain you, even if you’re on a low carb diet! 😀 Morning all! Nope, it’s already afternoon. Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun!🤪 Let’s just say I’m not in

The Magic Pill
A bit of background. Heart attack in April, stent fitted. TC 7.2, HDL 1.0, TG 1.3. I've refused statins and in 3 months I've dropped 2 stone, but I'm still a little overweight. TC 6.1, LDL 4.5, HDL 1.1, TG 1.1. I moved to a mediteranean diet which basically involved cutting out the bad stuff, because

rise of bg with LCHF
I am using LCHF diet already 4 years. It worked well, but during last 2 months I have often higher bg before lunch in spite of eating the same breakfast each day. Today I have 6,9 mmol/l (125 mg/dl). Usually I have between 5,6-5,9mmol/l. What is cause of such rise of bg ? Not food but may be less

New to this community - Hi all
I am a vegetarian - no fish or eggs, last few months I have had to have
gluten
free
and lactose free
diet
as much as possible due to the allergic reactions caused by having them. I am not ceoliac as tests came back negative. Trying to get healthy, I struggle with what to eat esp for breakfast.

Is cream a good LCHF food? (as part of a balanced diet)
Is anyone struggling to keep up to their target weight? I usually break my monthly 72-hour fasts with 500ml of full-fat yoghurt, followed by a cooked brunch. I normally fast 20 hours a day, eating only two meals... but, after lunch, I had my breakfast cereal-free muesli - in a bowl full of double cream

food diary & diet
My doctor recommended trying
gluten
free
, meat free, dairy free, and a low FODMAP
diet
, but separately to see what works. Has anyone had any luck with any of these? And are there any apps you would recommend to help keep track of everything you’ve eaten / your symptoms? Thanks!

First meal of the day Had a coffee with 2 tbsp butter and 1tbsp coconut oil - fantastic- not sure how many of these I would be allowed in my 8 hour slot though ? And 3 scrambled eggs, herbs, salt, whipping cream and butter served with 1/2 avocado, 2 slices Parma ham, french beans and red pepper .

I need some reassurance, please
I am convinced by the science, but worried in case I turn out to be a "special case". The back ground is that I have lost a stone and 3in off my waist since January, by eating my own version of extra veg, reduced carbs, and full fat, natural, everything (and haven't eaten sugar for years). At the

might be a good idea so I’ve not been

Lowering carbs
I've been reading a lot about LCHF and keto and there are some interesting ideas there. I'm a bit too old and set in my ways for a complete dietary change involving giving up all of my favourite foods. But I wonder if there are any relatively easy changes one can make to lower carbs without going all

Does heat increase blood glucose levels?
This is my first summer since being diagnosed. Since diagnosis I have been on low carb and have lost a lot of weight. As a result most days my readings are in the region of 5.5. Today I have eaten the same food as in previous months but my bg has gone up to 9.1. I have been drinking a lot of water

Newbie post - unexplained prediabetes.
For over two years I have had prediabetic HbA1c test results, creeping upwards from 43mmol/mol in a routine test in May 2018 to 47 at the last test (just before lockdown in March). 48 will indicate diabetes. After the first test result I bought a blood glucose monitor and, whilst, thoroughly researching
