My diabetes also drug induced. Do you have to take the prednisolone all the time?

For lung infection after course of prednosolone my blood sugars come back down although diabetes remains but controlled with meds, exercise and diet..

Steroids do raise blood glucose levels no doubt.

Thank you for your response. Yes I've been on prednisolone since 2004 in varying dosage. I can't do much exercise as a by-product of the steroids has been a huge weight gain. My diet is pretty well low carb and not overmuch. But I'm finding the meds a problem. I've been on farziga and mycophenalatebut the side effect are a bit testing. Vomiting, aches and pains, hair loss, swollen joints etc. All the things my steroids are trying to tame. My big fear is that my chest in fections will come back. So the devil and the deep blue sea!

Poor you Lizzie, its so difficult managing several health conditions and in that catch 22 situation. I hope your medical team can come up with a solution for you, maybe have a chat with the nurses on BLF helpline as well to see if they can advise anything.

Best wishes
