Gastric Band patient
Hi, I'm Tracy and had a gastric band fitted in February 2012. I have had my share of ups and downs with it. Hoping to help anyone considering the surgery with an honest, yet supportive approach.

i had a gastric bypass done 5 years ago, i had tried so many diets and it seemed the only choice left, the weight came off.
and after 12 months i has lost 9 stone. i thought i was happy, i could buy nice clothes, i enjoyed the attention. so what went wrong? i have put the weight back on, and feel such a failure. the hospital that did the op lost their funding so i dont have access to dietary problems. how can i work out how

Bloated and swollen
When I had my 2nd back surgery in 2008, my surgeon said the thinner I was, the safer the operation would be. So I went in to surgery weighing a little under 7 stone (I'm only 5ft 1"). 6 weeks after surgery my husband and I watched as my legs started swelling up before our eyes. Within 48 hours I was

No more shots? Surgery keeps diabetes in check
Times Of India, Nov. 14, 2012 MUMBAI: When 43-year-old Shankar Nair landed in Mumbai, he was tired of diabetes. Positive mental attitude just washed away by Hospital Consultant
Don't want people to feel sorry for me but needed to vent my feelings out to the big wide world. Have Crohn's disease, pbc and early menopause so can't have children but have good life and work full time. Always try and stay positive and everything going well until I saw consultant today. Liver

Help Interpreting Results Please - Normal TSH, Low T4
Hi, I had my second child 10 months ago and my obstetric consultant said that my thyroid looked 'unusual' during pregnancy and to have it checked again following the birth. I lost nearly all my pregnancy weight (about 2 stone) within 2 weeks of having my son and then around 6 months
