Gastric balloon

Hi all I'm having a balloon inserted next week and wanted to find support and talk to people undergoing similar weightloss surgery.

I wouldn't recommend)Or going to dentist (wouldn't recommend that either) Ended up having to be under general anastetic *soz* to have the remaining teeth out(I Wouldn't recommend that either) Had the gastric band done over 10 years a go (Imust be the only one out there to put on more weight instead

I had a mini gastric bypass in 2008 which was converted to a RNY in 2018 which could be the issue. I fear that the opioids cause slow gut motility. (hence all these stomach issues and brain anxiety- but I have no life events that are causing the anxiety).

Out of frustration, I took out a loan and went to Latvia for a Gastric Bypass in 2021. (very reckless i know, but i was desperate for answers and could not see an alternative).

Hi all I got to see a Consultant Gastroenterologist (Surgeon) yesterday and she’s agreed to take out my Gastric band 🤩 I said I believe it’s caused me to become ‘probably’ deficient in B12! (NICE guidelines ) She said no with a gastric band 🙈 but other obesity operations!

in sept 2023 i had a gastric bypass and have lost over 100 lbs in a bit over a year. while I was prepared for the physical changes, post surgery and my body changing what I have been most surprised about is my emotional mental health changes.

I’m gastric Bypass. Had 1 Prolia in Feb 12. Had CTX done so I can start Reclast. CTX is 89. Has ANYONE had Reclast going in with a score of 89?

I can’t take any Bisphosphonates because I had Gastric Bypass. I don’t know what to do. Is there anyone out there that been on Prolia and can’t take a Bisphosphonate? I would love to hear what you took in place. TY!

I explained my symptoms and what my last blood tests results were and I am indeterminate B12 deficient (as per March 24 N.I.C.E guidlines); I also explained it may be my gastric band that’s stopping my absorption of B12 and Folate!

I had the gastric band 12yrs ago and things went a bit pear shaped, I had the liquid drained, but the actual band is still there, My meals are small or liquidised,When my dentures are fixed and placed in I will get some relief by being able to chew properly and how I miss a good salad!

I had a gastric bypass done in 2018 and my weight has been stable for a few years now. Every time I go in with any issue, they see the TSH and it's like an 'aha, that's the problem' and they just don't look too closely at anything else.

Reiterated my symptoms of B12 deficiency, Folate deficiency, Hypothyroidism, vegetarian and having a gastric band 12 years ago a lightbulb came on! Oh so yes probably good idea for B12 injections! She said she will write to gastroenterologists (I thought I may have PA).

Just to give you all the info, I had a gastric bypass around 20 years ago and despite that have gained around 3 stone over the last 3 years which I am desperate to shift.

If you remember I have had a gastric bypass and my absorption isn’t good. Vitamin D came back in the normal range though still isn’t great. It looks like I’m going to have to self administer B12 so if I could get some advice about where to buy some I’d be really grateful.

Hi guys Bit of my back story had a gastric bypass back in 2008 in 2009 my LFTs where mega high in the 1000’s had my hall bladder removed as well have complications from that, In and out of hospital with an infection etc to which they put the high LFTs down to the amount of antibiotics and advised

It was not heart or lungs. 3 weeks ago gastric bypass refused at point of surgery because of HR and they noticed breathlessness on walking. Went to GP about breathlessness, they didn’t examine me just said it was AF.

I hasten to add more to do with me than the GP as it has made my weight balloon and has given me constant gastric issues..Following my last rapid reduction my GP recommended another visit to a different Rheumatologist with a view to getting that consultant to approve use of a prednisolone alternative

I feel like I've been left with little advice other than I'm now being told to have a gastric bypass. I don't over eat so it wouldn't help but my endocrinologist doesn't believe me, it's incredibly frustrating. Can a fatty liver cause damage to my actual liver? What can be done to help it?
