Feeling desperate..
Right.. Apologies, this is difficult to know where to start..! I'm desperate to lose weight, it's making me depressed to the point where I don't even want to leave the house. I've always been a 'big' girl but after having my children the weight has just crept up and up, I've tried every diet going, pills

Hi everyone! I found this site while tearfully searching the internet for anything I could find about rheumatoid and lost mobility. I am incredibly discouraged right now and I am trying to find something, ANYTHING, that will be a source of hope and motivation to keep going.. A bit about me.. I am 38

Feeling Better
Hi everyone. Quick update. Feeling much better this week then last. To start me off im going to reduce my calories to 1250. My dad used this method before he had his gastric bypass 3 years ago and he lost loads. On that note what's people's thoughts and opinions on any gastric surgery?

DUMPING - Hypo -Research ....good news (1)
I post below an excerpt from a recent published and peer reviewed paper concerning investigations into certain after-effects of bariatric obesity surgery. This text is pretty indigestible but it serves to illustrate that big guns are starting to be deployed on the problem, which is identical to and due

Struggling with my partner.
Hi, my name is Sean. I had to have a gastric bypass 4 weeks ago because my acid reflux was so high. I own 3 pubs and between myself and my girlfriend (9 years now) we have 6 children (5 living with us) I found myself back to work in the pubs straight away doing basic stuff but a lot of driving around

But after a couple of years the band caused problems ie vomiting all the time and I had it loosened and gained weight so had it tightened. Vomited but weight stayed so loosened and gained weight. It Is now loosened a little so I still

Thyroid problems after gastric bypass
I had bypass 1992, had first thyroid surgery 2004. Only 1/2 was removed. In 2010 had other 1/2 removed, both times due to cancer. In 2011 I had gastric revision. I am finding now I am having trouble with leveling out tsh level. Did some research myself and found it could be due to not absorbing synthtoid

Come to the end of my tether!?
I am just about to turn 29, I have been overweight as long as I can remember and its going up and up. I am now about 24 stone and my BMI is 60, as I am only 5 foot 3. I have PCOS, underactive thyroid and depression. I have tried various options, lighterlife, weight loss tablets, diet, exercise and therapy

Determination
Just completed first week of the NHS diet plan. Found the plan very helpful and ( as usual) I have got off to a flying start, already shed 6 Lbs. By keeping to the plan and taking every aspect seriously I'm very pleased with the results. I spend ages searching for interesting low calorie meal plans

Weight loss surgery
Hi everyone, the pain has been so bad this week that every time I've walked I have been weeping due to the crippling pain. I'm about 10st over weight and just feel mortified at the recluse that I have let myself get to this size. My husband and I decided that it would considerably helpful if I went

Excruciating constant pain
I'm a 67-years-old widow. Two and a half years ago I had bilateral knee replacement surgery. Following surgery I had drop foot in my left foot, which eased up to only affecting the large toe. During surgery a nerve in my left leg was nicked, resulting in numbness and partial paralysis. Also, a few

Malabsorption and medication
Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with Lupus last Tuesday. I was given some information at Dermatology but was in shock really to learn that I had an incurable disease. She asked if I had any questions but I just couldn't think straight and left without asking anything. I haven't started any meds yet apart
