Anyone out there ever experienced BRIGHT YELLOW stool with PBC? ( I know a lil gross)
I've had bright yellow stool for almost two months now. Its constant, at least 5 times a day. ( I had a subtotal colectomy so I have alot of movements). I was just curious if anyone else with PBC experienced light color stools, such as yellow? From what I've read its because of the lack of bile salt

For several weeks now I have been having trouble falling asleep, after months of being ok and getting about 5 or 6 hrs. i have bought some one a night Nytol tablets over the counter £5 for 16 pills. They did nothing. The packet states clinically proven to help you sleep and wake refreshed. They

Feel like driftwood.....:( please let me know what you think? x
Friday: I ended up on the Ward and had to stay the night. Surgeons have conflicting views. One things MTX and Sulphasalazine and other thinks gallstone left after op near cystic duct is the problem. So getting an ERCP :( Wednesday: Rheumy nurse wants retaken ..she has spoken to Rheumy doc and they

Photographs - Don't you just hate them?
Well I've just received some wedding photos from my sister's wedding that she sent me and OMG what a shock! I hate having my picture taken at the best of times and so avoid it at all costs but couldn't avoid these ones. There's one of my sis and me talking and it really took my breath away how I

Is anyone else out there AMA negative. I keep getting little bits of info from my specialist and evidently I am consistently this.
I thought that PBC was usually AMA positive. Evidently I have persistently raised alkaline phosphatase. Is anybody else out there like me??

CAN INFLAMMATION BE FELT?
I've had a warm sensation in my chest for a few months, it comes and goes. It's not uncomfortable just slightly annoying and keeps me wondering if I'm feeling inflammation in my bile ducts or liver. Could this be possible? I'm trying not to blame PBC for everything but, can't help myself!

We all fall down - Well I DID! :-s
Good morning all - Gentle hugs. I've had a bad couple of days - I fell down half the stairs the day before yesterday - my legs just gave out - and it's left me a tad more stiff and in worse pain than ever. :-( My daughter came to "look after" me - but with her little son teething so bad and full of

scan day at last
Well at last it is Friday and my scan later. It has been a very long painful week I really hope they find some gallstones, this may seem odd but if I have them then they can sort it. I dont relish an op but if it stops this constant pain that the painkillers dont touch I will do anything.

Hi All I've joined here for two reasons really...one for support and two for advice. I started this torturous(!) regime this afternoon with my teenage son...but I could only run for a minute for the first 3 running sessions. I had no puff!! For the other running sessions, I lasted about 50

Blood in Urine
I had severe pain in my left kidney a few weeks ago. I visited my doctor but she said that it was probably muscular pain as my urine at that time was clear. The pain passed after 4 days. It's been two weeks since that episode and I now have dark cloudy urine with blood in it. It has been sent for analysis

Ovary removal
I am 66 years old. I have been monitored for fibroids. This week I went for an ultrasound scan and vaginal scan. The fibroids had shrunk but my right ovary had enlarged. in September the scan showed a cyst on my ovary. The gynaecologist advised me to have my ovaries removed and is making an appointment

Do you have an iPhone? I found a useful app for documenting pain
It's called My Pain Diary and it's so worth having. You can e-mail reports to your doctor if need be. I've been using mine to keep track of all of my pain as I was just recently diagnosed. I'll be printing this off for my doctors to take a look at. I think it's great. You can set yourself reminders as

What is the brand name of your URSO if you had the itch upon starting and how is your prescription for it written.
I can't help wondering what others are on for PBC medication-wise with regards to the URSO. I have the URDOX brand and my GP gives me a prescription with just Ursodeoxycholic Acid and the mgs/tabs per day. Have heard such a thing as generic drugs but not fully sure what that means and if so, are there

Bile.
Been reading on here about the liver and bile as in when it is made recently. Thought it would be of interest to read this extract from netdoctor.co.uk "Bile is the thick, greenish fluid, secreted continuously by the liver cells at the rate of up to one litre per day. It is stored and concentrated

Pain in hand when writing
I'm experiencing a lot of pain in my right hand when I have been at college writing and it has got so bad sometimes I can't write. I have tried some gels to help relieve pain and some support bandages. Does anyone else get it and how do they cope with it. Thankfully I have passed my Numeracy class

Gallbladder removal even more fatigued
Had to be admitted to hospital last Monday as emergency. Never been so ill they removed my gallbladder on the Tuesday said it was badly infected and and all the gallstones had gone solid. Had keyhole surgery anybody else had this done ? Was just wondering if having PBC makes the recovery any longer ?
