Scared but trying to stay positive
I am 22 yrs old and just diagnosed with PBC. I don't know my stage yet. In the process of trying to get Medicaid in my state because I don't have any insurance otherwise. I think mine stemmed from my gallbladder. It was small and had alot of sludge in it. So I am thinking that bile got backed up in my

A big thank you
Hello all, I have to confess to being a long time lurker on this forum but I really wanted to say thank you to all of you who are less shy than I am. I have been reading all the blog posts and questions for 18 months now and sharing people's journeys and advice and I am very grateful to be a member

Ovary removal. Has anyone tried HRT implants ?
Hi, I am scheduled to have surgery on Monday to remove one ovary or possibly both. I had my cervix and uterus removed four years ago aged 36. The consultant suggested estrodiol HRT implants if both ovaries are removed. I am concerned about the side effects and wondered if anyone has any experiences

Preventative Oophrectomy or not??
Hi ... I have had raised levels of CA125 for the past 18 months, up and down between 38 and 77. I also have family history of OC (my mum who died at the age of 59). I've just seen the Gynae Consultant who has offered to take out my ovaries as a preventative measure. US scans haven't shown much, small

Will this be horrible?
Well, I know this is going to be the day for panic, but I have just read on another forum about menopause, and I had forgotten all about that, I shall go straight into surgical menopause after the op? Or will it be a couple of days? What will it be like? Is it horrible? No more periods, how weird, what

The Journey Begins
It's been a very strange few weeks, no a few months actually. In january 2012 I went to my GP rolling in agony with abdominal pain, he told me he couldn't think what could be there to cause a problem, so took bloods and said go home take some pain killers and get over it. When I rang for blood results

Every morning I read all the bloggs and I love the fact that as fellow Fibro
sufferers we can each read our selves in others problems. So many of us suffer the same pains, the same problems in our daily lives but we all endeavour to help each other however we can. It may be a small one liner but it gives us comfort and helps us cope. Brilliant, marvelous oh that we were

Anybody feel really sick taking Ursodeoxycholic?
I am advised to take Urso 300mg 3 times per day but it makes me feel really sick.(I've been taking it on and off since 2004 because it really doesn't agree with me but they say there is nothing else) I am fortunate in that I have no symptoms from the PSC despite having being diagnosed in 2004 and

Started the Urso today
Felt a bit strange today getting the urso and taking first tablet. At least I know what the score is now and the 3 months of waiting and wondering is over. I did find out that my ama test was the m2 type today which i think holds more significance to pbc so all in all it stacks up. I am told i

Pain in my ribs/back
Hi all Wonder if anyone else has the symptoms I do? I had my gallbladder out 3 months ago and thought the pain I had in my ribs/shoulder/back were to do with the gallstones. I thought wrong. Since the removal of my gb I still have pain, not the intense pain I had with the gallstones but this awful

Going to have an OPEN Unilateral Oopherectomy... what can I expect???
I recently was diagnosed with pelvic congestion, and underwent an embolization of the veins. I am 24, thin, and very healthy. I have a daughter who is two. I have had a loooong history of ovarian cysts (3 required surgery, 5 hospitalizations). So the embolization was done about 8 weeks ago, and needless
