Tales from the IC : Festive Rowing-Run (#7)
I’ve managed to get over my flu (although my
fitness
did take a hit), but my metatarsals are still giving me grief! So I’ve moved over to running daily on Zwift, or rather indoor-rowing a running avatar on Zwift.

8K! Getting fit for my black belt!
But the one thing I can do help myself in addition to training my socks off is to up my
fitness
even more. I’ve been in a pretty consistent place in terms of my
fitness
lately which is by no means a bad thing! But if I want to improve it I need to change things up a bit!

Recumbent Trike
This is a tricycle where you sit in a comfortable position, just like the recumbent bike machines you find in a
fitness
center or your home gym (but with real wheels!).

FAQ WHICH SHOES?
The price may seem exorbitant, but they are the best investment you can make in your physical
fitness
………..and much cheaper than a physiotherapist. Gait analysis is explained here https://healthunlocked.com/couchto5k/posts/136873936/gait-analysis………..what-why-where.

Heart palpitations since vaccine. Myocarditis?
My
fitness
watch & oxomiter have heart 40-150 (at resting). Spo2 also drops but goes up again, I was told it was slightly low by a nurse, but fine in another appointment. My chest aches. I just want to curl up to sleep and wake up feeling normal.

Nice Primer on "FOXO"
She is primarily oriented towards longevity, rather than specific cancers in her website "Found My
Fitness
" with much free content. FOX0 family of regulatory genes and proteins also have great bearing in understanding cellular mechanisms involved in cancer suppression, etc.

I danced the cooldown!
Was told by the physio that I'd never run for
fitness
since diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis grade 4. Told by the surgeon there was nothing I could do but keep slim and book in for a partial knee replacement. So I stopped moving, got depressed and put on a stone and a half.

First 10k completed 🏃🏼♀️💪
, so this year from Christmas has been about
fitness
and and using exercise and particularly running for the only form of me time I get with a 1 and 3 yr old! First non stop running 10k, 1hr 17 even with starting with a hill and the many roads involved!

Hip Replacement and PMR
I also worry about keeping muscle
fitness
as PMR has left me very weak in the thighs and legs. I try to walk- 15 to 20 mins - but it's increasingly painful and I'm trying to keep my yoga exercises for the back and core going but have to heave myself up from the floor with arms.

Tales from the IC (#13): Running vs Rowing, muscley toes, and recovery plans
I actually added daily (almost) rowing to my workout regime, and I will see how well it kept my
fitness
levels up, as I begin to make my baby steps into the running world again. And my baby steps have started.

Not normally a early morning persons or
fitness
but some reason I’m wanting to get up and go gym , helping so much with mental health . Actually look forward to the next morning . I am looking for a gym buddy who is willing to give it a go but not to give up easily

Tales from the IC (#12): Strong knees and cute toes
I’ll be intrigued to see if rowing has made a difference to my aerobic
fitness
. My knees are certainly stronger, noticeable when doing any stepping motion or when simply kneeling. And they are also more flexible, with Yoga and post run/row stretches having worked their magic.

Sunny cool Saturday!
I'm not very good but I'm really loving the physicality of it; basically I love putting improved
fitness
together with a bit of strategy and game-play. There is some impact involved though, obviously, and I don't want to overstress my system.

GMU DNF ☹
On reflection, I think that's down to
fitness
; if I was fitter, it wouldn't be anything like as hard. It was all going well to something past marathon distance but then my legs seemed to, err, run out of run. I missed the cutoff for the last checkpoint.

The weather
It seems that running is as much about mental attitude as physical
fitness
, it's not what you do, it's how you interpret what you do.
