Surgery for Macular Degeneration?
First time posting here. My father-in-law, 87 yrs, has dry MD. What kind of treatments are there? Injections, drops, surgery? He says there is surgery for Dry MG but doctors don't want to perform it. Can someone help us out and give us a list of treatments.

Foot Check.... 'A' OK.
Dear All, I haven't written on here much, even though I DO have Diabetes. However, yesterday I had a Foot Check. The lady named Christina is, in fact, a Regular Visitor to our Flats.... we had just 'missed' each other somehow. Apart from a 'bit' of Fungal Nail, that my Dermy knows all about, my feet

Hello, Update on trab, it would be 7 weeks post trab tomorrow. I still have some blurry vision just better than previous weeks but my eyes aren't back to normal ( pre -op) . Pressures down to 10. Opioid withdrawal/ management advice
Hi. I have been taking opiods for many years. First codeine, which stopped working. I moved on to Tramadol and now Morphine. I have never suffered withdrawal symptoms whilst stopping an opioid because once a week I have a night drug free. I am doing this whilst on Morphine too in anticipation of

CDC reconsidering guidelines for opiate use. This affects RLS sufferers.
RLS.org is asking us to send comments to the Center for Disease Control about our use of opioids to treat our symptoms, as the CDC is reconsidering guidelines for their appropriate use and how they can be prescribed. Please don’t think this is only for Americans. ( See below.) My comment stated that

Rotational Medication Regime
I’m wondering if anyone has tried a rotational medication regime (i.e. Tramadol for 1 week, Requip for 10 days, Gabapentin for 7 days - rinse and repeat) and what thier experiences were like?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia treatment with B12 injections and oral folate
In the category of "not helpful but interesting", I am sharing this paper decribing a research project which treated patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia with B12 injections and oral folate. One interesting facet is that dose of B12 and folate is based on symptoms as reflected in clinician

Has anyone else had issues with their eyes and has Hashimoto’s?
A Few months ago I woke up & both my eyes were swollen. They’d been watering for weeks previously. And I’ve been using drops for dry eyes. I’ve no idea what the issue was. Spoke to Drs and advised to take an antihistamine, which I’ve been doing now, for weeks, but issues still remain. It has taken

RLS codeine
I have never experienced such a dramatic sensation in my body but I do keep RLS at bay with dihydrocodeine before bedtime and one in the night if I start kicking and screaming. The two natural things I find helpful is magnesium and a magnet wrapped in cloth near my legs.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
The largest ever DNA study of ME/CFS is available to register online. ME/CFS and FMS are similar in symptoms. Some people may suffer from both or all. Crest and Sjorgrens.... I have such a dry mouth it is affecting my whole life ... Any advise would be appreciated .
Hi All I'm not sure why i'm asking or what i'm asking , but more recently My dry mouth is on a permanent flare up . Its takes ages to eat food as there is not enough saliva to break the food down, the trouble with always having water at hand is the relief is momentary as the dryness comes from deep inside

GP versus Eye Casualty
Hello. I woke up this morning and my eyes were red and puffy, sore, itchy, swollen and discharging. Contacted my GP (by econsult, as phone lines engaged for first 3 hours at least). Then my instinct told me to ring eye casualty. They called me in, and did a thorough job, diagnosing allergic conjunctivitis

Anyone with experience of Lamotrigine as a preventative?
My consultant has prescribed Lamotrigine as a preventative. I’m wary as I had terrible side effects with topimirate. Beta blockers do not have any effect. So I have to try a third preventative in order to be eligible for cgrp injections. I don’t want to go backwards in my daily life with the mood swings

Total knee replacement
Hi and good sunny morning to you all. 6 weeks ago I had a total knee replacement should have been a 3 day stay but I was in hospital for 3 weeks. I developed phumonia and a PE. I'm struggling to recover on top of that I've had no RA drugs for about 10 weeks and won't be allowed back on my biologic drug

Hypnosis
Has anyone tried hypnosis? My RL started after a head injury. I think it affected my nervous system and brain, causing my restless leg problems. DR prescribed 1200 mg Gabapentin and 400 mg of Magnesium. I am uncomfortable as my RL occurrences are all over the place. Hence wondering if Hypnosis would
