Hello. I woke up this morning and my eyes were red and puffy, sore, itchy, swollen and discharging. Contacted my GP (by econsult, as phone lines engaged for first 3 hours at least). Then my instinct told me to ring eye casualty. They called me in, and did a thorough job, diagnosing allergic conjunctivitis, prescribing steroid drops and switching one of my drops to a better tolerated one. All within a 2 hour window. The duty GP did ring whilst I was en route and assuming I was right in my assumption that I had an infection, she advised that if it happened again I could simply buy antibiotic drops over the counter. She was very nice, but I was so glad I followed my instinct to seek help from the experts and would advise others to do the same.

Glad your feeling better Efabear you did the right thing. Take care
Good morning Efabear you definitely did the right thing. It must have been very frightening for you. Gps are still a nightmare to get through to at the moment. I hope your eyes clear up soon. Best wishes.
