Hey, I was diagnosed w Myopic CNV a bit more than a month ago and had two Lucentis shots in the affected eye. OCT showed that the drug works but my eyesight is not really kmproving, rather I see “double” and have real issues reading and working on screen longer than 30 minutes. Does anyone here have experience using eg an eye patch when working with screen?
Anyone with long lasting effects due to scarring - so afraid this will remain permanent and not improve much. Doctor told me it was discovered last minute (was injected immediately) and the bleed was right in the focus area 🤥
Upside (when life gives you lemons…): wil finally be getting a dog, as my old hobby (reading) is out 😬☺️

Hello, I was diagnosed with myopic CNV in May last year, I had to wait 6 weeks (from the day I rushed to A&E) to get an injection (Moorfields London), I was told I would have a course of 3 but after 1 the leakage stopped. I was told I did not need another but I explained my vision was still distorted (left eye) so they agreed to give me one more as according to them there was still a “fuzzy “ area ……. I had the second Eylea but still no improvement.. 10 months later and several visits to the hospital (I go every 6 weeks/ they are truly wonderful there) for check up and so far the eye is stable BUT I never got my sharp eyesight back, truly gutted (in my 40’s). They said that the leakage happened in the fine detail area of my eye … I can read etc but it getting tiring as the lines are slightly wavy. My biggest fear and having this happen to my good eye as would not be able to drive. The cars (spacial awareness) look different from each eye … both eyes like that would be tricky. Which dog (breed) are you getting? I have a sharpei, he’s definitely the love of my life. ❤️
Sounds very similar to what I am experiencing - reading makes me depressed now - I have been given a 50% reduction from my doctor for a few weeks but that is a small confort if this keeps up for 20 years (am mid 40’s like you)… Goung dor a second opinion tomorrow and will discuss if tou can learn to see differently - read about that somewhere. My kids think I am the biggest cheater when play board games now - I confuse 4 w 5 and 1 with 2 on the die 😬😅
We are getting a Maltese - she is 5 weeks old so still some time to prepare and puppyproof the house 🥰
It will take time for your brain to adapt, and the timing is individual to each person. I am able to read with only one good eye perfectly. My bad eye has scarring and vision is very distorted. Be patient!
May I ask you all you how your vision is now please? I’ve had two injections in my right eye and it’s still distorted - I can’t read clearly with that eye at the moment.
My eyesight improved a lot with the final injection and the scarring decreased - but it takes time. My eyes changed focus which led to double sight - this can be fixed by prisms, which is fairly easy.I have a small smudge of unclear left, which likely will not go away. Hiwever, my specialist told me that I was a very rare example of recovery based on how bad the bleed was…
Thank you so much for the reply. I think we all try to look for positive stories. It’s all very scary and worrying. I’m pleased to hear you vision improved and the double vision can be corrected. Keep well and thanks again!
