Kidney disease (category 3) and rising cholesterol level
Does anyone have cholesterol issues? I am so happy that stopping dairy and watching my protein intake (mostly plant based now) has helped me raise my gfr from level 3 to level 2 but yesterday’s meeting with my dr revealed that I now have cholesterol issues. Hard to believe...I was always a low carb eater

6-day Autophagy Fast
I am not expecting any of you to join me - but this might be of interest. I have been doing a 100-hour water fast every month, but I do not need to lose weight, so I do not need the calorie restriction of a water fast - and I do get low on energy on a 100-hour water fast. I do not have diabetes or any

Low carb high fat
First post on here, and after feeling so poorly over the years and eating too much sugar, I finally had a light bulb moment and gave my head a good wobble, and thought I think I’m making myself worse continuously eating crap, I know it’s taken me years, I’m 63 years old 15 stone so I’ve been on this

Fun fact of the day
Prof. Henry Lardy was an American biochemist specializing in metabolism and dairy science (history does not record whether he also had an interest in pigs). I like to think that if he'd still been alive today, he would have published lots of papers on LCHF.

Getting worse
I have suffered with ibs for many years. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago. Recently things have been getting worse, especially since having my appendix removed in 2018. I have recently had more explorations done, to rule out anything more serious. I've realised that my diet needs looking at regularly

My keto Easter treats
Thought I would post the Easter treats I've made to help me resist temptation. They are all low carb and sugar free, some turned out better than others, the walnut and brandy truffles taste wonderful, as do the hot cross buns. Haven't tried the cake or bunny or eggs yet. Happy Easter everyone x

Sinemet intake blocked by Proteins
I was diagnosed in 1992 and have had DBS surgery. At 73, I am actually quite healthy. My question deals with protein intake due to Sinemet being blocked by animal and even quite a few plant proteins, namely amino acid foods. Are the other Parkinson drugs also sensitive to proteins? Has anyone else

Calf pain
Hey so I've been doing C25k for 6 weeks now and was due to run the last leg of W6 this morning, but I didn't because my left calf is in pain. It is very sore and feels tight (kinda always do tbh!) it's ok-ish to walk on but I didn't want to run risk of further injury by running non stop for 25 minutes
