I am not expecting any of you to join me - but this might be of interest.
I have been doing a 100-hour water fast every month, but I do not need to lose weight, so I do not need the calorie restriction of a water fast - and I do get low on energy on a 100-hour water fast.
I do not have diabetes or any of the non-communicable diseases for which a low-carb or keto diet would help.
Autophagy is the main benefit I expect to get out of a fast... and, according to Dr Mindy's chart above, you get autophagy up to at least 125 hours.
To autophagy fast you need to keep your protein below 20gm a day.
I fasted early last month, and the cafe that does take-aways is closed this week.
So I had a normal breakfast and an early lunch on Thursday, starting my Autophagy fast.
On Friday I had a normal cereal-free and meat-free breakfast and yoghurt and cream for an early lunch, starting a water fast.
I will eat nothing on Saturday and Sunday, and yoghurt and cream on Monday Tuesday. On Wednesday the cafe will be doing take-aways again.
According to the chart, I will not get a great deal of Autophagy in the last day - but I will see how it goes.
I strained an (acromioclavicular) ligament in my shoulder at Easter, and I think autophagy has helped it heal - and I hope the fast will also help.
I fought off CoViD, I think from mid-November to mid-January, and I have had both vaccinations - the fast will benefit my immune system, but I am no longer very susceptible to CoViD.
