Pain pkd
I has my pd catheter put in last Friday. I have not had much pain around the area. But m back pain is really bad. I always get back pain with my polycystic kidney and I used to take a hot soak to ease the pain, of corse can’t do that anymore. I miss my hot bath😱 I have only had to take one pain pill

Weakening bones/joints on dialysis
Hi I am on dialysis for 4 yrs after my first transplant failed. My bones and joints are weakening day by day. I do take calcium+vit d3 and cinacalcet for high PTH. What else is required to avoid weak bones and joints? Any advice?

Afib, sleep apnea and diverticulitis from aerophagia
Hi. I have afib and sleep apnea. As you know, some think that sleep apnea may be a causitive factor in afib. I have been using cpap and bipap machines for some years for the apnea, and have a problem of swallowing air (aerophagia). Before the improvements in cpap technology, I would wake up after a

Home monitoring for RLS?
I have sleep apnoea as well as RLS/PLMD. I was wondering whether there was a way of monitoring RLS events (microawakenings) caused by RLS without going into hospital and having a full overnight sleep study with PSG? I am able to monitor my apnoea events per hour using my CPAP data card and the OSCAR

liver issues and dialysis
I may have issues with my liver (waiting to speak to a consultant). It looks like excess toxins are seeping into my body making me feel rough. I wondered if anyone with liver issues and heart failure has ever had dialysis and did it make a difference?

Rough Draft of App Dedicated to Folks on Hemodialysis or PD
I started a quick draft of an app that might be wider in scope but I just want to get feedback early on so that I can minimize the application 's content. The main premise is to get rides from volunteers that could be an individual or a company. There are other tasks such as help doing light chores,

Shortness of breadth
I had open heart surgery 8 years ago, I used to have AFIB but a valve replacement resolved it so far. I also have sleep apnea and use a cpap. Recently I have been getting up in the middle of the night once or twice to urinate and I am experiencing shortness of breadth. After I urinate it goes away.

Waking up
hi, I’m new here but I feel like I’m going out of my mind. My Mum (79) ended up in ITU last Thursday following a chest infection, diabetic ketoacidosis and pneumonia. Her sedation has now been reduced but she’s not waking up. She has days when she will spontaneously open her eyes, and when I speak to

When folks are at the dialysis center do you use a tablet or phone?
Hello Again, As I mentioned before, I am a User Interface Design Student who are building a site to help people who are undergoing dialysis. Like my sister, she uses her phone to watch Youtube videos to pass time. I'm interested in what device people use so that I could tailor it specific for those

Not waking after sedation weaned
My sons father has been in the ICU 13 days septic and in multiple organ failure due to an unknown bacterial infection. At one point his cardio output was at 15%, was on full ventilator, and dialysis for his kidney. After about 10 days the infection and fever seemed to clear up. On Friday they stopped

I would like to build a website to help people on dialysis. But since there are so many factors to consider, I'm hoping to get insights
What kind of website do you think will be most beneficial in helping people on dialysis? a social website that people can connect and share their experience online? maybe share information to better educate patients? Perhaps a website that allows people to share their feelings? pain, frustration? Please

I'm new. My mom is in the ICU. She's 49 her birthday is next month. We're all staying strong for her.
On Saturday January 07th, 2023 mom went to the ER. She went to her dialysis that day. After she was done my sister's took her to the ER. The doctor told my dad and sister's that moms eyes is yellow. Doctor was hoping that it wasn't due to liver problems which turned out to be just that. They sedated
