Afib, sleep apnea and diverticulitis from aerophagia

Hi. I have afib and sleep apnea. As you know, some think that sleep apnea may be a causitive factor in afib. I have been using cpap and bipap machines for some years for the apnea, and have a problem of swallowing air (aerophagia). Before the improvements in cpap technology, I would wake up after a few hours with intestinal gas pains. I developed an umbilical hernia, which I believe was related to the aerophagia, but is dismissed or downplayed by the doctors. Now I have suffered through a few episodes of diverticulitis and was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. That is, using cpap to control afib but then developing diverticulosis/diverticulitis?

Thanks.
