Serum thyroid peroxidase antibody concentration 173.9 ku/L
I’m 56 and in that two years I’ve been diagnosed with microscopic
Colitis
. I then started experiencing aches, pains, stiff joints and basically feeling old before my time. I’m also getting so fat and even 3 months of strict slimming world hasn’t helped.

How long for prednisolone to take effect?
Hi everyone, I've had
colitis
for around 8 years at this point. I've had quite a few flares - one particularly severe one that required hospitalisation. But I guess each flare is a new beast. I'm currently nearing 3 months into this flare.

colonoscopy and AF
Hi all, I’ve had
colitis
for thirty years and have had a surveillance colonoscopy at five yearly intervals. I was recently diagnosed with AF and am now absolutely terrified of having a colonoscopy in case I go into AF while having the procedure.

UP DATE
I will have a biopsy to see if it's microscopic
colitis
as I have RA. If so I would have 3 months treatment . Next is a fasting lipase blood test. If nothing of importance comes from the tests I will see the Gastroenterologist in a year's time. So keep up the good work me. 🤗

Awaiting results
The initial findings from colonoscopy stated ‘multiple small ulcers’ which biopsy samples were taken from and also noted ‘indistinct vascularity’ which was biopsied too and ‘inflammation of the mucosa’ …. all of these seem to point towards a diagnosis of
Colitis
….. but they needed me to have the CT

I’ve also had some symptoms of ulcerative
colitis
including an elevated calprotectin test but still waiting to see gastroenterology about this. It runs in my family but symptoms currently under control.

The difference between ET and JAK2 ET…?
She is on drugs as well for Ulcerative
Colitis
. They are anti rejection drugs. She was diagnosed with ET a year or 2 ago when she had a TIA while driving and was hospitalised for a week where she had a BMB and told she had ET. Her platelets were over 1 million. No JAK2 positive tho.

Azathoprine caused Liver Cirrhosis!!!
Diagnosed with Ulcerative
Colitis
in 2012 which was successfully treated with Azathoprine. However, recently my blood platelets started dropping and I was given a liver ultrasound where I was told it felt stiff with scarring but then following a liver biopsy my results were ‘liver cirrhosis’ !!
