Diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis - due to taking Azathoprine to treat UC. Since off Azaphoprine Blood Platelets returning to normal :)
I was on azathoprine for 10 years to treat ulcerative
colitis
which worked but unbeknown to me until now has been causing liver cirrhosis. Anyway since off these meds my platelets were 85 (low) but now getting higher which is encouraging :) I really hope this means my liver won’t get any worse.

soft, sticky stool which is hard to pass - any advice?
In July this year, I had another colonoscopy (with microscopic
colitis
biopsies) and have recently had a bile acid malabsorption scan. All back ok. Despite avoiding my known food triggers (diary, high fat, eggs, chicken…), eating low fodmap, only drink water etc.

Blood In Stool Relief
I found out that I didn’t have a tumor or any polyps, the bleeding is coming from
Colitis
. They took a biopsy to figure out what’s triggering it so they can decide how to treat it. It sucks but I was very relieved to find out what was wrong with me.

Colitis and blood thinners don't mix
I can stop taking blood thinners for my
colitis
to go back into remission but put myself at risk of another heart attack or a horrible stroke.

Two months ago I was diagnosed with Indeterminate
colitis
and markers suggestive of Cohn’s disease. I’m currently on a weaning dose of steroids and had a COVID jab the day before my blood draw. Would those factors affect my results?

An indicator in the blood could guide lupus treatment
A clinical trial (called “BEAT-Lupus”) has found that using a combination of two biologic treatments, rituximab and belimumab, may be more effective than using rituximab alone in patients who have not responded well to other treatment. They also found that people with a particular indicator in their

Can you tell NICE what you think of a draft decision aid for chronic primary pain?
It is different to chronic secondary pain, which the NICE guideline describes as pain that can also be secondary to (caused by) an underlying condition (for example, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative
colitis
, endometriosis).

Endo!
I'm 57 now and after the usual trying to get my GP to help they sent me for a colonoscopy as I have microscopic
colitis
. I told them the pain wasn't related to that but went to rule it out. All clear from the biopsies as I suspected.

Colonoscopy side effects
I learned on friday that it showed i had collagenous
colitis
. i will be prescribed steroids. Since the colonoscopy i have developed horrific lower back pain which conventional pain killers don’t help. Can’t take anti inflammatory drugs as on blood thinners.

Hi,I'm a 37 year old healthy (other than mild ulcerative
colitis
), not overweight male. I have just had my yearly medical check and was alerted that my GGT level is too high (67). My AST, ALT and Bilirubin levels are all normal.

Liver Cirrhosis caused by Azathoprine for Ulterative Colitis! Anyone share a similar story xx
I was diagnosed with ulterative
colitis
in 2012 and was put on Azathoprine which worked - happy days. However, recently my blood platelets dropped so I was given an ultrasound of the liver which revealed stiffness of the liver 10.9 and some scarring.
