Precursors to Lymphoproliferative Malignancies, MBL, MGUS
An interesting look at premalignant conditions and what they portend... 'Given that both MBL and MGUS uniformly precede malignancy, chemoprevention strategies are an area of keen interest. Both MGUS and MBL patients have a low probability of progressing to a clinical disease and thus chemoprevention

At the end of my tether...
They did some blood tests (which to be fair my doctor had done too - looking for
colitis
and such problems). Then the doctor poked at my stomach and when I flinched he told me that he'd hardly touched me. He said to go back to my doctor and ask for a referral to a gastro specialist.

Has having endometriosis effected your sex life and hopes of getting pregnant?
I also have IBD microscopic
colitis
which can be painful. I have stop all pain medication except paracetamol or co-codamol and have refused the pill. The doctors said they can't give me anything if I'm trying to get pregnant. Any suggestions for pain free sex?

Bowel transplants, bike rides and biopsies
Away from the patient world my attention this week has turned to our charity and the annual Paris 2 London bike ride for Crohn’s and
Colitis
. I just thought that I would share with you the video highlights of last year’s ride in the hope that it might inspire you to want to take part.

Recovery is possible assuming you know what's really wrong - Part 6a -The Gut
I've had the classic consults including diagnosis of possible stomach ulcers, IBD, IBS,
colitis
blah blah blah. I hate that so many terms get bandied around based on symptoms vs facts. So many of these terms get misused and overused it gets confusing.

My life with an ileostomy from the start
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative
Colitis
in 2002. It progressed quite quickly and by December 2005 I was virtually housebound because of incontinence. In March 2096 I haemorrhaged and was admitted to hospital.

Sclerosing Cholangitis and Ulcerative Colitis - diet advice please!
Hi there - my son has both SC and UC , and it can be quite confusing as the dietary advice for both conditions can sometimes contradict each other - I was wondering if anybody else had the same scenario or could offer some advice (he's a teenager so diet isn't his focal point either!)

Coeliac Disease and bowel disease - is there anything left to eat?!!! :-(
Following diagnosis my symptoms didn't improve whilst on a gluten free diet and a colonoscopy showed that I also have lymphocytic
colitis
(microscopic bowel disease.) I tried steroids which didn't help & have now been advised to stick to a gluten free, low fat & low fiber diet.

Smoking copd and UC
I have UC (ulcerative
colitis
) and one way to live my life without having a bag is by smoking. Odd you say, but it can be found on UC sites, that for some smoking can be helpful. I am one of them. When I quit I end up in hospital with serious consequenses. So . .

Had Fludarabine? You can only have irradiated blood...for life.
This is a repost...for some reason the messages isn't getting through... It simply amazes me how many fludarabine treated CLL patients are not aware of this fact... it also apples to Cladrabine and pentostatin all purine analogs in fact. Also a good idea for bendamustine and campath...

Not diagnosed as Lupas, but I'd appreciate your opinions please...
She's 37 now, and has had Pluracy, Ulcarative
Colitis
(although they call it indeterminate
colitis
as she has symptoms that are more similar to Chrones), Thyroid Problems ('til it was removed!), Antiphos' Lipid syndrome, Arthritis, Graves Disease (related to the thyroid I think).

IBS - Almost one year on....
I was sent for several blood tests to check for digestive diseases (
Colitis
, Chron’s etc.) which all came back negative. I had MRI's, ultrasounds, pregnancy tests and a laparoscopy to check for Endometriosis. Again, all negative.
