Started Interferon
About two weeks ago I put a post on here about my anxiety around changing my treatment plan from Hydroxy to Peg Interferon. I had been sent the vaccine but not given any specific instruction about how to self inject. I appreciated the advice I was given from others who had trodden this path before

More on D3 supplementation (only if you're really into it)
This may be a bit boring, as well as off-topic; but I was curious; so I looked up a bit more on how much to supplement vitamin D, so as to get the benefits and still be on the safe side.
What's recommended?
In the U.S., the NIH (National Institutes of Health) advises "consumers" to aim for

Leaky Heart Valve and various symptoms
Pleased to have found this group. I recently saw my GP about some loud, intrusive tinnitus. I've had tinnitus for years but this was more severe and a bit worrying. She thought it might be pulsatile and sent me for an ECG, which revealed an anomaly. I then had an echocardiogram, which revealed a leaky

How soon can I re-test folate levels?
After getting a low folate blood test, I have changed my diet to greatly increase folate intake (can't tolerate any folate supplement). How soon can I take another blood test to see if my levels have come up? It has been 3 weeks since I changed my diet.

I have posted on here before about my son. It started with a rash on his ear which then went to his face (bridge of his nose and eye brows). Around the time the rash started he also had canker sores appear. The rash lasted a couple of months but seems to pretty much have faded, however he is having

Hi im just looking for some advice if possible. 2 weeks ago today I woke up with a really tight chest and a feeling that something was sat on my chest! I got extremely anxious but through deep breathing I calmed myself down and went back to sleep, following on from that I’ve had an uncomfortable feeling

REFERRAL TO THE FORUM
"Long time member of PMRUK. What I thought was r/o, new physical evidence has brought me here. The PMR community has been great for the past 2 years, but they believe I may receive better guidance here in the Myositis forum. Honestly, as you read my latest post in the PMR forum I may not belong here

sorry I dropped off but thanks for all the responses - just been getting a few things sorted. Realised a drink I was consuming had a lot of aspartame in it 😡 and didn’t make the connection to the depression until yesterday 🤬 aspartame has done this to me before 🙄, the depression has eased a lot

Mums progression
Evening everyone, My mum was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver back in Feb, she has had numerous stays in hospital in that time due to Ascites and problems after taking her diuretics (problem with low sodium), we managed to get her home for around 8 weeks and in that time she slowly started to pick

Blood test
I know from this community how important it is to test first thing in the morning but my doctors' surgery is very stretched and my blood test appointment can't be changed from late morning. I'm not sure I can last without any food until 30 minutes after the appointment. How bad is it to eat something

OHSS - anyone else struggled/struggling?
tests
and scans every other day until I had a bleed and monitor the fluid and my ovary size (which were just under 7cm each at worst) After I had a bleed I was told things should go back to normal within 2 weeks of egg retrieval, which admittedly I did feel a lot better.

AST to ALT ratio has become greater than 1 after decades of elevated levels
My ALT and AST have been elevated for decades. For second time in a row now, my AST has becomevhigher than ALT ; they are currently in 60ish range. A very nice article i read on the DiRitiis ratio from around 2013 says my new current ratio of 1.1 suggests fibrosis and ir bad prognosis to cirrhosis

Cancer Cell Blood Test
My oncologist has suggested I get the cancer cell blood test done. Has anyone had this test? What were the results? I have had severe side effects on all chemo and cancer drugs and my Oncologist has recommended it.
