Any advice appreciated
Good Morning Thank you for allowing me to join the community. Thank you for helping us all. I have been going to my gp for sometime with low thyroid symptoms but they say the blood test is normal. My mother had a parathyroid tumour removed in her forties and my brothers and mother have underactive thyroids

Could low iron be making me feel very unwell?
The hospital also did these
blood
tests
. Didn’t test my thyroid weirdly but did my iron and cholesterol. I’d be glad for some help with interrupting the results. I’m hoping to get a full thyroid test done. Think my cholesterol is ok but maybe the iron isn’t? Could these results (low iron?)

Hydroxycarbamide Dose
I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced Hydroxy not working as well after a time? I have been only taking it for 2 years now and all seems to have been going well until a couple of months ago when my platelets started to rise again. I have had another visit to consultant today and they are

Pred dose, what should I do?
The rheumatologist did say that having looked back at years of
blood
tests
, the differential diagnosis may be sero negative arthritis linked to Crohns disease which I've had for 52 years ( no current symptoms). Any suggestions very gratefully recieved. Thanks.

Advice re. Churchill hospital
Can anyone who attends the Churchill hospital in Oxford give me a little guidance please. I have been referred to haematology there and have an appointment in late May. I will have to drive to get there (a round trip of about 70 miles) and I understand that parking there is pretty hellish. So if anyone

it feels like I'll never get better
I went to the ER several times and got tested for pulmonary embolism,
blood
tests
, sed rate tests, anaemia, etc. But none of these were positive. I used my Ventolin constantly, but it didn't help in the slightest.

Famotidine
I have been on 20mg of Famotidine for about a year, over the past 6 months while taking Famotidine I seem to have developed heartburn has any one else suffered with heartburn while on Famotidine? I was on Omeprazole previously for nearly 3 years without any problems but a blood test revealed low sodium

If my blood test show I have no inflammation, could this explain why Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) did not work for me?

Sore toes and feet
Hi , is there anyone here that suffers from painful toes and feet , especially at night . It is generally my right foot that tends to play up most , the heat and pain generated in the toes and foot is at the best of times unbearable. Have been to see a chiropodist, but they didn't have any idea of what

recommendations for nhs endo please?
GP was dismissive of
blood
tests
for ferritin says it can go up or down for many reasons. 🤷♀️. Didn’t think it important in my profile tho I said it’s one of the four important factors for good thyroid function as I’ve learned here! Led me to wonder why test it if that’s the case?!

Urgent help please: Getting an NHS GP to agree to blood tests for a private endocrinologist
Hello, I have a GP appointment in about an hour and it's to discuss having a blood test that has been ordered by a private endocrinologist. The person who recommended the private endo to me told me to try to get as many of the tests done on the NHS as possible. I'm not sure how to approach this with

Not entirely thyroid related but you are experts on testing.
I've used medichecks over the past 4 years and have no reason to doubt their accuracy, but my eldest son has been diagnosed as depressed and the usual anti-depressants have been thrown his way without any further investigations. I'm not anti anti-depressants but I'm very much pro investigation, particualarly

Deiodinase 2 (DIO2) DNA blood test
Apologies if this is already been discussed at length. I'm just wondering if anyone on here has had this test? If so, where? Was it useful in your diagnosis? There only seems to be one place in the UK that does it. I'm a little dubious as it's only £15 according to their website!!

Day 5 of stims
Hi,I'm on day 5 of stims for my first IVF cycle (and started ganirelix today as well). Anybody else at a similar stage? I have my first monitoring scan and blood test tomorrow and am excited but nervous. It feels as though the novelty of daily injections has already worn off (not helped by the fact that
