I hope it’s ok that I share my good news? I finally went to the hospital to a nephrologist - 6 months after realizing I had CKD stage 3.. my eGFR was about 50-53. No other symptoms.. My doctor showed me my test results that went way back - and they showed above normal creatinine and below normal eGFR

I have had symptoms of a UTI since 31st October. I had Nitrofuration twice at the start of all this and things started to settle until I had a bath. I was then given 7 days of trimethoprim- I felt no real difference with this. Dipstick tests never really show infection so 3 urines have been sent to lab

Latest results from the INSPIRE project - how doctors diagnose neuropsychiatric symptoms in lupus
A new study has found that doctors have a variety of opinions on whether different neuropsychiatric symptoms are directly caused by lupus. Doctors rated their assessment as most helpful in diagnosis & patient reports as least helpful. The researchers are calling for more inclusion of the patient voice

Peg reduction
hi all I’m just giving you a positive post about my Peg intake. I cannot believe that is roughly two yrs since I started Peg and I’m still reducing my dose. I started 90 units a week with 16 Hydroxicarbomide. ( I dropped the weekly 9 anagrelide) It then went to weekly minus the Hydroxicarbomide.

UK NHS - PA treatment & management experiences
I was diagnosed (by my GP) with PA about 2 months ago and so far I’m on the ‘standard’ NHS protocol having had my 6 loading injections of B12 and awaiting the next injection in 2-3 months (this period seems a bit hazy). To be honest, my GP appears to be ‘simply’ following the prescribed script so I’

should pred eliminate all pain and stiffness?
I’ve been on pred 15mg almost 3 weeks. Great improvement which I am happy about. Although I am still a bit stiff in hips and can’t lie comfortably on my side in bed. Shoulders not perfect but miles better. I’m seeing my rheumatologist tomorrow after blood tests last week. Just wondering if I should

Advice please?
Hi all. I just wanted to see if anybody has experienced the same as me. I am a 28 year old male. I used to drink very heavily for around 6-7 years. I drank vodka with lemonade and could get through a couple of litres a week following my dad's death (not an excuse but it is the reason I drank so much

Trying to make sense of 'diagnosis'
Hi, I found out this summer that sometime in my lifetime (61 yo) I contracted and healed from Hep C. I had no idea! My blood tests also showed elevated AST (39) so my new GP advised an abdominal ultrasound. Results: Diffusely echogenic hepatic parenchyma likely representing chronic liver disease.

Got some cholesterol readings, I don’t quite understand them.
Hi all, I had a blood test this week for liver function and the results included a cholesterol read out. The GP surgery sent me a text to say all the readings were normal. Trouble is I’m 4 months or so post quadruple CABG following Nstemi heart attack in July, am I considered normal on the same scale

New diagnosis - MBL or CLL?
Hello again - updated name and avatar. Previously Dogsta. Well, after a strange 3 or 4 weeks I finally was given a diagnosis of CLL by the Haematologist but after checking on here and elsewhere I am now a bit confused. The flow cytometry came back with MBL (CLL phenotype) but just below the threshold

Week 4 complete
A massive thanks to everyone who commented on my post on Monday, I was in huge need of that motivation! Just completed my final run of week 4. I like the fact that it's up to 5 minute runs now and am taking it in my stride (ha!) Feeling a little more optimistic after Monday but a bit drained too.

Hello, I recently went to the doctors because I have had pain all over my body (shoulders, neck, knees, ankles, elbows, jaw), dizziness, exhaustion and feeling fluey for around 18 months. I had a blood test to check for RA and general health and was all clear apart from low iron. The doctor has put
