September I had a bowel impaction and after various doses of laxido and other laxitives plus three trips to A&E still not sorted!
Blood test CT scan showed nothing amiss just loaded bowel .I have continued with a maintenace dose of laxido and senna which makes me go most days but still feel like there is something I cannot pass and still getting very hard motions between the mushy poos Laxido produces. I cant go on like this but my gut feeling is that the impaction has not been cleared . Has anybody had a similar experience ?

I had a similar experience in July/August this year. As the pain relief medication I received cause constipation, I was given various laxatives including laxido and senna to help with this. I too had impaction, but fortunately it did sort itself out after about 5 weeks.
Thank you for getting back . Ive had this now three months and tried various doses of laxido and senna . feel relief for a few days and then feel very blocked again. Want was the turning point for you when you felt this is ckeared and ongoing maintanance dose plus how did you cope with pain ?
The pain relief was because I had had a haemorrhoidectomy. Once off the pain relief (after 3 weeks) I continued with the laxido for a week or so. I wasn't in pain from the impaction. I just knew things were not "right". Luckily, it did eventually sort itself out to reasonably regular bowel movements.
Yes i am in that position myself at the moment. After a bad bout of diarrhoea about 3 weeks ago, i now am not able to go to the toilet at all. Thought the impaction had cleared with the diarrhoea but dont think it has. Still feel blocked every time i eat. Unfortunately going away long haul in 2 days time for Xmas so daren't risk the diarrhoea again as had to go to A and E last time. It seems i will have to put up with the blockage until i come back
