Confused
UPDATE: April 5, 2024 Yesterday was very disappointing as my husbands PSA increased again by 183 points, last month his PSA was 1546 and now it is 1730. All his other CBC results were good. His Alkaline Phosphatase increased 6 points, last month 127 and now 133 but still in range of 40-150. Questioned

Not taking thyroid meds before blood test.
I see on this site that you should not take your thyroid medication for at least 24 hrs before a blood test. My GP has never mentioned it to me and infact when I mentioned it to her she just looked at me as though I was mad. I must remember in most cases when dealing with the medical professionals, that

Statin Side Effects
Hi I have been on statins for many years now and for about 12 months I have been feeling quite generally unwell occasionally. Mainly weak, achy, shaky & sometimes upset stomach. I’ve had blood tests & calcium levels are found to be raised. GP said that statins wouldn’t cause high calcium levels,

IBS - anyone with similar experience?
Hello, I’ve suffered with my symptoms for about 15 years, but seem to have noticed them more in the last 3-4 years. I went to the GP recently. He did blood test and stool tests and they didn’t seem to indicate anything too worrying and he said it was probably IBS. He recommended trying fodmap diet

live blood analysis …migraines
Around 7 years ago following blood tests for TATT and various other ailments, it was found that I had a low B12 (156) and GP agreed to prescribe the usual injections… loading dose and then 3 monthly. After lots of research on this site and through trial and error I finally settled on SE every 2 weeks

Second update Nearly there
Well my consultant is a very nice man but Having explained my recent troubles and symptoms, I said that there was no sign of it being PMR returning but rather adrenals not operating properly. He just went through the usual routine, can I get up from a chair without help, resist pressure on my arms

haematoma -update
As suggested, I got in touch with my haem who told me to go immediately to the hospital. I didn't see her face- to- face but was seen first by a junior doctor and then had a blood test. She reported back to the haem, sending photos. The outcome was I have a course (3 days) of Tranexamic Acid (2000 mg

Is this classed as low folate?
I'm a little confused about my blood test results. I'm not sure if I am posting in the right group! MCH and MCHC were slightly high which can indicate macrolytic anaemia. GP said I don't have that because my B12 and folate levels are fine (which are the usual causes). However, I posted the results

A Little of My Heart
When I first caught a glimpse of you, I thought, ‘Yes, not long now.’ When I gently encouraged and directed, When your head started to emerge, When I gently pressed down and saw how quickly the colour came back, I knew you were well, When I positioned my hands in anticipation, When I saw you rock

please can I have your advice on my blood test results. I take 75 mcg thyroxine for 4 days a week and 100 for 3 days. Have been on it since July 2023. I am not sure whether I am on the correct dosage as I have now started suffering from palpitations and high blood pressure. I would be grateful for any

Sudden Increase Of Creatinine
Hello everyone, I am returning after a few months of absence. I am 55 years old. Recently, my creatinine levels on the three most recent blood tests, conducted within the past two weeks, have shown a rise to 2.0. Previously, these levels used to fluctuate between 1.5 and 1.7. My glucose level remains

What to do ….
Warning - long post! I’m not sure what I’m really asking here, or if I’m just looking for a sounding board. At my appointment last month my haematologist told me my ET had now changed to MF, after a bmb and NSG testing. He also said I had markers for high risk for leukaemia. I didn’t ask what the markers
