AF Fears
Hello knowledge people! After 2 years of paroxysmal AF I reckon I am going into either persistent or Permanent. I am scared so much about this as I am not allowed any medical procedures as I’m too fat. Am slowly losing weight but I have a long way to go. Can you please tell me what life is like when

SVT after ablation
I had an ablation for SVT on 12th June and today I was back in A & E with a heart rate of 200bpm. I was told to come off my bisoprolol after ablation. I was starting to feel so liberated to get off meds and with the prospect of not having to be mindful of an SVT event happening in the future. So I feel

Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypercalciuria (excess calcium in urine) causing osteoporosis?
I've read a couple of osteoporosis forums and searched online and am not finding any information on hypercalciuria causing osteoporosis and its treatment (thiazide drugs which cause your kidneys to get rid of potassium and magnesium instead of calcium). I was diagnosed with osteoporosis (in my spine

Bisoprolol withdrawal - sleep issues
My husband had bad side effects on bisoprolol but was on it for three years. His consultant told him to gradually stop it which he has done and has now been completely off it for about three weeks. However, he is having real difficulty in sleeping (which believe me is unlike him :) ). Has anyone else

AF - Sudden Increase To Every Night
I occasionally get a very slight twinge or spasm in my heart during some mild exertion - a gentle bike ride or lifting the hoover for example. This often kicks off an AF bout the following night. I had the twinge thing on a ride a couple of weeks ago which caused an 11 hour bout of AF, and since then

Beta blockers and leg pain
Hi 👋I'm 34 years old, recently had surgery to fit a device to fix a hole in my heart. It was discovered due to arrhythmia. I am now taking bisoprolol 1.25mg twice a day and an aspirin 75mg. I am experiencing fatigue and leg pain. It can be quite bad. I don't know if it is because I'm back to work

Does anyone else on Bisoprolol get occassional spikes taking diastoylic BP very high?
Hi allAfter Cardiology put me on 2.5mg Bisoprolol last Nov for Bigemniny & (8%) Ventricular Ectopics I discovered that although it reduces my BP lower than the BP meds i was already on, it also occassionally spikes my diastolic BP sky high. GP said it shouldn't do this & to discuss it with the Cardiologist

The dreaded Bisoprolol strikes again
Hi all, in a week or so I am going to be writing a saga but I’m saving it. In the meantime, just need your reactions to this. I went to my GP with a bowel problem combined with AF, certain they were linked and mentioned a couple of ‘elephant sat on my chest’ episodes, feeling they were probably linked

Tacycardia - how long before I go to A and E?
Well this is a new problem for me. I have AF and in the past year episodes have become much more frequent to the point where the ‘A’ word has been discussed and I am now on the waiting list for an ablation. During all the years with AF I have rarely had a problem with a fast heart beat - up to now

Ha Ha Ha Ha
Time and again I see recommendations that one should speak to an MPN specialist or someone else on one's care team - and I have a quiet chuckle and just carry on with my life. I am Coeliac around 2010 I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and Essential Thrombocythemia; since then I have progressed
