A success story ? Could be you?
Hi - I respect all the problems / experiences forum members face . However after double cabg on 9th January 2023 ( urgent , following angiogram) my recovery has been-I believe - amazing..I have not suffered the side effects of medication felt by others ( bisoprolol especially ) did exactly what doctor

AF after using nasal decongestant
I’ve known certain triggers for my AF for years - mainly alcohol and stress. But it seems as I get older new ones are creeping in too. My latest episode began immediately after I sniffed a nasal decongestant for a badly blocked nose - and I mean immediately! Ive known for years that I’m not allowed to

So what does bisoprolol do?
Replying to Grinch2 I realised how little I know about the med I've been taking for so long. I went into AF about 8 years ago and have been dutifully taking bisoprolol ever since. I had a successful cardioverion shortly afterwards and stayed in NSR until last year. Had a second cardioversion and

Could I Be Sensitive to Bisoprolol, Even at HALF the Dose?
Hi all, Over a month ago now I was advised by my GP and an A&E doctor that I could cut my Bisoprolol (1.25mg) tablets in half, due to the fact that my heart rate was dropping to the 40s at night and the 50s whilst I was at work sat at my desk. I've noticed since then that my heart rate is still

Bisoprolol
I was diagnosed with afib December last year and prescribed bisoprolol 2.5 mg.I am waiting to see cardiologist ,but my pulse rate is irregular when resting. My afib I think is persistent, does anyone know if I need to up doseage of this med,as I feel a bit rubbish of late.

Annual bood tests post MI
Hi, I had an MI 9 years ago and stents fitted, and have been taking the usual meds. ever since - aspirin, Ramipril, Bisoprolol and Atorvastatin. I went for my annual blood tests earlier this week and today looked for my results on the NHS app - no cholesterol results. I’ve asked if they just take longer

Slow heart rate
I take 2.5mg of bisoprolol twice a day as well as Apixaban 5mg for AF diagnosed September 2019. Also 5mg of Ramipril for high bp diagnosed about 2003. The last 3 weeks I have noticed my resting heart rate is about 52 or 53. I walk most days and increase it to about 130 or 140 on those days. Should I

Another bisoprolol query
I take 2.5 mg of bisoprolol daily and in normal sinus rhythm a steady heart beat of 65 bpm. I've had three 40+ hour episodes of AF so far this year and was admitted to A & E during last episode. I had increased bisoprolol dose to 3.75 twice a day while in AF . The doctor in Same Day Emergency Care

Amlodipine
I was taken off amlodipine some months ago and put on extra bisoprolol because I had swollen painful ankles. Later my cardiologist became concerned that.my dosage of bisoprolol was too high 7.5 mg and reduced it to 5. My blood pressure became high again and I was prescribed amlodipine again. This did

Long Term Bisoprolol and effects
Just wondering the other day what my resting heart rate was before I started taking the Bisoprolol and if you ever stop taking the drug is there any long term effects in terms of modifying your natural pacemaker. I started on 5mg in 2012 and kept on that for 6 years at least. It was reduced to 1.25mg

Beta Blockers
Hi lovely people. I've had AF for 18 years, have had three ablations and numerous cardioversions so AF has been part of my life for a long time. I started taking Bisoprolol last October when I was in hospital with Covid and pneumonia which caused my heart rate to go really high, before that I was on

Tildiem retard/diltiazem question
Hi, My cardiologist has taken me off bisoprolol and put me on tildiem retard due to me still getting angina pain on walking despite having two stents. I've also been referred for a stress echocardiogram on 24 April to see if I have another narrowing. He doesn't want to do an angiogram/CT unless absolutely

migraine and Bisoprolol
I was commenced on Bisoprolol 1.25 mg daily to help with PVC’s. since then I have had 3 “silent migraines” aura without the headache. I have had similar aura type migraines since I was younger but there have been long gaps between them. My question is can Bisoprolol cause them to have become more
