Blood pressure review
Just had a telephone call from my GP to review my blood pressure as its always very low I was put on Bisoprolol 5mg after my heart attack but my BP started to drop so just over a year ago the dosage was dropped to 1.25mg but this hasn't changed my readings as they were still very low. GP has told me

Importance of seeing a Cardiology Consultant
Hi there Relatively new to this and I am probably asking an incredibly stupid question. How important is it to see a consultant. I have been diagnosed with LBBB cardiomyopathy, there is mild dilation of LV and I have occasional ectopic's rather than frequent as I am on bisoprolol. I have just started

Rivaroxaban.
I'm a lady in her 60s still working and otherwise quite fit but a bit overweight and trying to lose it. I was diagnosed with AF in 2019 and have been on rivaroxaban 20mg and bisoprolol 5mg twice a day . I have no particular side effects but have read edoxaban is a safer bet as a blood thinner than rivaroxaban

Bisoprolol
Hi there, looking for a bit of information. I have just taken my first dose of Bisoprolol1.25mg. at 12:00. Just now I went to brush my hair and I could see my neck pulse. Would this be because of starting a new medication? , or have I randomly noticed it? I checked my B/P and my HR and both were fine

Hi I am about to start taking the above. I already take Bisoprolol for AF and also methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis. I'm always concerned about side effects when I take any new drug. If there is someone out there taking the same combo or anything similar. I'd like to know if they've had any problems

Is this now the norm?
Hi everyone, I had a heart attack (Inferolateral STEMI, Primary PCI -OM) and stents fitted three months ago. I just don't feel that I am getting any better really. Have maybe one or two good days a week (if I'm lucky), the rest of the time I feel totally exhausted. And doing any sort of task seems

Bisoprolol
Hi, not been on for a while. I've been on bisoprolol since my HA and stent 19 months ago, all fine but after initial weight gain, which I've stabilised, I just can't lose any despite exercise classes and gym 4 times a week and healthy eating. I've read Bisoprolol could be the culprit and that it's recommended

Afib and bradycardia
Hi, I have paroxysmal afib with episodes lasting about 24 hours every 14 to 21 days on average. My daily resting heart rate measured on my Fitbit watch ranges from 41 to 50. After an episode of mild but obvious palpitations it rises to about 50 but falls back to the low 40s after a few days. If I exercise

My Path to a Healthier Heart
I have persistent a fib, going on three years. I take the regular regimen of apixaban and bisoprolol. A blood test taken in June, which I requested because of chronic fatigue, revealed low iron. I tackled that problem by eating liver and red meats more frequently. In addition, I began to take a reputable

A Lot Has Been Going On Since I Last Posted
I think it is about 10 months since I last posted here - and a lot has been happening! My previous posts were all connected with my quest to discover why I always feel so tired and unwell and especially why I wake up after just a few hours sleep feeling really unwell. Last November, I bought a Wellue

To Dial 999 or Not
Last Thursday was a horrible day. I had a message left on my answerphone from my older sister, who has slight learning difficulties. She said, "Jean I have a pain in my chest and feel terrible", then she was in tears. I immediately called her back and asked which side the pain was, it was her left. Asked

Pulse field ablation back in AF 24/7
I had an ablation (3rd) for paroxysmal AF in July had 5 weeks without any AF and then after 5 weeks it returned and since then I’ve been in constant AF. Spoke to my arrhythmia team and they said this can happen in the blanking period but I’ve never experienced this with previous ablations. My bisoprolol

Ablation “Invitation”
Greetings my fellow travelers. Thank you once again for your replies to my last post asking about private EP appointments. I was just poised to find a local EP, when I received a phone call from Hammersmith Cardiology regarding my ablation date. I have been on a waiting list for couple of years.

Post TAVI
Hi all Just out of hospital after a TAVI, RHR is increased by about 20 points O2 is lower, feeling really tired and lifeless. Did others feel like this have this reaction? Bisoprolol was stopped so that they could see a 'real' change in HR.

Definite weight gain with increased Bisoprolol dosage
6 months ago I was only taking a very low, 1.25mg dose of Bisoprolol, this was increased by my cardiologist to 3.75 and recently by my GP to two 2.5mg daily (5mg). I have definitely put on weight and have had no luck in lowering it with diet. I feel extremely tired all the time, not helped by the need
