Rivaroxaban.

I'm a lady in her 60s still working and otherwise quite fit but a bit overweight and trying to lose it. I was diagnosed with AF in 2019 and have been on rivaroxaban 20mg and bisoprolol 5mg twice a day . I have no particular side effects but have read edoxaban is a safer bet as a blood thinner than rivaroxaban. I'm due a medicine review next week and wondered about asking GP for a change . Does anyone have any experience of either drug and did they find they felt better on either one ?? I'm in permanent AF and also had a cardio version which didn't work.

Hi Pebbles1

Sounds like your medication is very similar to mine. My Doc changed me over from Riva to Edoxaban within last year (I believe on the basis of cost) and I felt no ill effects from the change despite my misgivings - being that I felt medically balanced at the time. Everyone is different so hope all goes well with you whatever your decision.

Thank you for your reply . Yes I can imagine GP will be happy to change me over from a cost point of view I'll see what he says next week . But nice to know the change caused you no problems.
