Pains - could it be iron suplements?
For the last week I've been getting increasing aches and pains. First in my hands and feet, then my arms and legs too, now all over. I've been taking 600mg of Ferrous Sulphate a day for a month now. Could it be that or just worse hypo symptoms?

Good news and bad news. Anyone else with P.O.T.S.?
Well, I had good news in that the biopsy on my nodules showed them not to be cancerous and although they still can't find out WHY I constantly cough when eating (they say nodules are too small at around 2cms, to cause the problem) my ultrasounds, barium swallow and endoscopes all show nothing. They

I wrote a month ago my reaching and swallowing had got worse I contacted the hospital saw a specialist Monday. He seems to think it is the epiglottis not working properly, which does make sense (I had something stuck the other week had to put my finger down and felt it) Also after examining me I am tender

Very weak after losing a lot of blood
Following heart surgery five months ago (two more stents fitted to coronary arteries) l was prescribed a very strong anti platelet drug called Ticagrelor. The alarming side effects to this drug put me in hospital and I lost a lot of blood from both my prostate and a pierced bladder which was damaged

I seem to have well periods now I am treating myself on thyrogold but every 10 days or so I have a really bad spell, unable to get out of bed. Epsom Salts Epsom Salts Epsom Salts!
I keep reading on the benefits of Epsom Salts in a bath and I thought I would explain a bit about it! Epsom salt is Magnesium Sulphate. The only reason it works is because a little of the magnesium is absorbed through the dermal layers (skin). Very little but enough to give a bit of relief and anything

Feel like giving up!
I added a bit to the end of my previous post last night but this morning I honestly feel like giving up. I phoned the General Hospital this morning, where I'm awaiting a thyroid isotope scan. I saw a ENT guy privately yesterday to try and find the cause of my choking on food. One of the things he wants

Anyone had a Videofluroscopy?
My husband was referred to the hospital in November as staff at the hospice want him to have a PEG fitted. The specialist we saw said he wouldn't do it because of the risk involved and because my husband, "Certainly doesn't look malnourished". He has now been given an appointment for a video X-ray

Advice please on confusing problem.
I have top of range RBC in range Hb. and take ferrous sulphate for iron deficiency anaemia. I have top of range Vit B 12 when supplementing. Low MCV & MCH. I feel I have all the symptoms of pernicious anaemia. Please can anyone suggest why I have lots of RBC's with low MCV & MCH?
