Feeling warm - new blood tests suggests still hypo, doctor is investigating RA please advice
Since my last post 2 weeks ago, I stopped taking a quarter of a 25 mg liothyronine tablet with my levo (100 mg) which I had been trying for 4 days. I had swollen and achy joints in my hands wrists and feet, and was (and still am, especially at night) feeling hot even though it's quite cold here in Manchester

Endo appointment on Thursday - please arm me with right questions/interpret blood tests beforehand
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Australia in 2008 just after second baby (TSH was 38.45 and raised thyroid antibodies, also had low ferritin and high cholesterol). At time, was busy juggling newborn and toddler so I saw an endo for a few months to settle on a dose of levothyroxine of 100mg a

MHRA Public assessment reports
The MHRA has available a considerable number of Public Assessment Reports on medicines. These reports seem to be written during licence application processes. Unlike the Electronic Medicines Compendium (EMC), which is obviously intended for broad public access, these documents are almost hidden away

I'm new on here - Susiecarer
Hi All, my husband has within the last few days been diagnosed with CLL. He is 69, 70 in May. Blood tests have revealed that he has iron deficient anaemia and is taking ferrous sulphate for this. No prescription but local pharmacist was kind enough to sell me it. Due to no idea as to what dose he should

W1 complete - yee hah!
Can't believe I've run three times this week. And that I'm enjoying it! When I finished R3 this afternoon I was still some way from home so I ran twice more to get me home - feeling very virtuous! Am now wallowing in an extremely deep and probably too hot Epsom Salts bath and thinking about Sunday's

My Ferritin, Folate and B12 results
Hi I wonder if you kind people would have a look at my results which I've just had back from my local surgery. B12 401 (190 - 660) Folate 4.1 (3.9 - 26.8) I'm puzzled by the B12 range. 660 doesn't seem very high at all. Do you think I should still take B12 as it is over half way through the range?

Perinatal Iron Deficiency-Induced Hypothyroxinemia Impairs Early Brain Development Regardless of Normal Iron Levels in the Neonatal Brain
Rats are not humans. This is research and contradictory evidence could well be found. Perhaps this shows that throwing a pack Ferrous sulphate at a pregnant woman and caring not whether she takes them or not is deplorable practice. Surely the imprtant thing is to ensure that the iron levels are right

Hi, I'm Tiff, and I'm new here. Literally I joined two minutes ago. I am a 19 year old female who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. When I was 15 I noticed a lot of joint/muscle pain but never thought much of it because I never really thought anything was wrong with me. I was 15, you know? Well,

Onions are great antioxidents
I have no links to post right now because I couldn't really be that bothered to post any links so I'll just use my own common knowledge for now. Like the title says "Onions are great antioxidents" and yes, they are indeed. On Tuesday last week, I had a slight cough. On Monday morning-early afternoon,

Oh, happy day! Longest run yet...😀
Set out on a very cold, beautifully sunny and frosty morning, hoping for a 10 mile run. Up on to the beautiful trails and bridleways near me which were much easier to run on than last week, when it rained continuously and I splashed my way through puddles and mud! Today the trails were frozen - I picked

Radium 223
I am hormone-resistant, failed Zytiga after 4 months with PSA up to 61, completed a CT/bone scan in mid January showing bone met progression with some pain, I am scheduled to begin xofgio (radium) next week. I've read some posts here on it as well as others but feel this is my best option after checking

Gabapentin
I take 1800 mg per day and 2 mg of Requip. Mostly under control but sometimes add oxycodone, Valium, ice packs and/heat. But I have psoriatic arthritis to go with it which compounds the problem. I wish I could use methadone but I reacted violently to it although it sure worked for the problem.

Supporting stress
Hi All, Just wanted to put something out there for those of you who are under stress, in case it helps, even a little. When we respond to stress, our bodies use up more magnesium and B vitamins, and Vitamin C than normal. When stress is chronic, it can be really easy to run low on these nutrients.
