Study regarding milk Kefir and bone resorption/loss
Hi, I hope this is an appropriate and useful post. 11 months ago I had Bone density scans and was shown to be beginning Osteopenic (sp?) in spine and shoulders. I am one of the people who have decided against using Alendronic Acid for several reasons physical and personal. In an unending search to combat

I will apologise now for the whinging but I need to "speak" to people who understand my frustration and pain . I wonder if anyone else have had the symptoms I am getting at the moment and what they could be. I have UCTD and RA and I take Prednisolone, Lefludomide, Hydroxychloroquine, Gabapentin, Omeprazole

AA and jaw pain
Looking back at previous posts I think the jaw pain I wrote about began when I started taking alendronate. I see my GP end of the month and will mention it to him. Has anyone else noticed this correlation? Thanks for all the help and advice Barbara

Ibandronic Acid
My doctor is very keen for me to take monthly Ibandronic Acid tablets of 150mg. My dentist, however is less keen as she said there can be some problems caused by the drug when having dental treatment. I think she referred to teeth that needed to be extracted. I've been on Pred. for 4 years and am currently

Alendronic acid
Went to doctors today and discovered the Alendronic Acid I was given for osteoporosis has lightly been causing my IBS systems to be worse. Come off this now and hoping things might improve. Given this because of the NICE guidelines for women over 50!!

Employer advice needed - endo sick days being taken as annual leave.
Hey all, I was diagnosed with endo last November following a laparoscopy and excision. I work as a psychological therapist for the NHS. On the first day of my period I can barely move let alone think or be in a position to provide therapy, most months I will take tranexamic acid, mefenamic acid and tramadol

Started Ursodiol yesterday
Just started my Urso. I picked it up and the price was a bit of a surprise. So I asked the pharmacist the cash price! Over $700. A month! I paid 95. So thankful I have a job with insurance. We gotta do what we gotta do. My years of paying premiums is about to pay off.

Terrrible aches in legs
Hi there. After 5 years on Tamoxifen, and being 55 now post-menopausal, I switched to Anastrozole a few months ago together with Alendronic Acid (as I found out I also had osteoporosis). I was initially really pleased not have that unpleasant 'simmering' feeling I endured throughout the 5 years on Tamoxifen

Hello, my name is Marie , I am new to this. (80 years of age) I have recently been told that I have Paget's Disease. To be honest I did not even know that there was such a disease. I have on the 25 July/17 had an infusion of Zoledronic Acid. Can any one tell me of any side effects, I did not think to

Well worth a Dexa Scan to see if Bisphosphontes are essential!
My GP has been pressurising me to take Alendronic Acid and I have been resisting. She sent me to Dr Peel at the Northern General Hospital with notes designed to make the case for me to go on the drug. A bit like being sent to the Headmistress! Saying that I was fearful of side effects( I am). Today I

GCA Flare
Hi, not posted for awhile as been ok. Started on 40 mg 17 months ago with GCA. Had a couple of hiccups but as told by my rheumatologist in March keep reducing 1 mg per month. I was down to 5mg for a couple of weeks and struggling a bit - tired, a few head tingles and neck ache but soldiered on. However
