HI Everyone (Especially Slow Dragon) I have just returned from a Dr's appointment as he wanted to discuss my thyroid results, (see previous posts, TSH 0.03. Not related to any of your responses to my recent questions and rants - why do we see fertility treatment as ‘optional’?
isn’t it so strange that even among the fertility community you get the kind of response (often in kindness, often v subtle) of ‘well what did you expect if you didn’t go private’ when you complain about NHS waiting times, or lack of care & attention,or lack of Choice in treatment, I even say it to

Do these types of treatment have any efficacy for PA patients with gastritis. ? I understood that with pernicious anaemia we had very little gastric acid. Doctors always say oh just try them, and have no answer to my question. Can any of you good folk help.

Excellent explanation about B12 and malabsorption: may be due to other things besides pernicious anaemia
https://www.easy-immune-health.com/b12-malabsorption.html This article explains so well about B12 being malabsorbed; may not always be PA; could be H Pylori or other things. Explains everything really well. I have read: 'Could it be B12?' by Sally M. Pacholok and Jeffrey J. Stuart and it reflects similar

Latest bloodwork
My past 3 cbc's have shown a rise in specific areas that seem to indicate that I'm no longer in remission. I'm hoping I can attach results as I have questions about some elements. I have been on a low dose of (140mg) for the past 5 years and was previously treated with FCR in 2013. I will see my oncologist

How to fight for treatment?
I felt awful last oct and blood test showed B12 was at 21.6pmol/l so was given 6 loading doses. I went back at their request and was told my B12 levels were in range (obviously) and that was that, no other appointments needed. My intrinsic factor they tested a few weeks later was 2Au which I believe

Blood found during endoscopy
Hi folks, not posted in quite a while.....Had endoscopy done Friday gone, long story short. Altered blood was found in my antrum. Unfortunately they had to band 4 varices, they were large, but said no sign of bleeding from them. Several other small varices ,so another endoscopy in 6 month. Portal hypertensive

Antibodies Negative
Hi, Im pretty new to this all. I was feeling extremely weak lethargic, pins and needles etc and my b12 came back pretty low (167) started injections but now the doctor tells me that the test for my antibodies came back negative which means I do not have PA and that they will not do an Intrinsic factor

Very low ferritin with top of range haemoglobin can you then safely supplement iron to get ferritin up?
hi last iron haemoglobin was 15.7 top range of 15 and ferritin was 22 (as usual although that’s quite good for me! Range 15- 200(?)). I was beginning to get that rubbish short of breath way I do when ferritin goes very low (been at 3 few years ago). TSH was jumping about a bit and I don’t have other

'Malabsorption' - what do doctors mean exactly?
Hello, When reading about causes of deficiences such as iron, folate, B12 etc. the medical information (from whichever source) lists the causes and malabsorption is always one of them. To me this seems vague compared to the other causes: eg. in the[i] Guidance for Primary Care on the Interpretation

RLS & BURPRENORPHINE
Hello everyone, I had been on Oxy for the past couple of years for pain. Recently I switched pain doctors and he switched the Oxy to Buprenorphine 8mg (film). The Buprenorphine, like a miracle, stopped my RLS immediately and it also controlled my pain so much better than the Oxy. In the past couple

Iron levels normal but ferritin 23 (30-150), folate 31.9 (8.83-60.8), vit b12 active 73 (37.5-188), D 98 (50-250) Predictably doctor was unconcerned
