Nearly 4 years ago I had 4 big bags of iron I took it up to 1200 which I know is high , but my doctor was not worried because every blood test showed it decreasing.
Does anyone know how many different kinds of iron are out there .
I have queried this with doctors et they have no idea .
If there is life after this one and they insist on me coming back . I will come back as vampire
I guess they don’t get Restless-legs 😂

There is ferrous sulfate, iron bisglycinate, ferrous gluconate, ferrous fumarate and chelated ferrous bisglycinate. All of these may be combined with other ingredients. Iron can be heme iron or non-heme iron. There is slow release form of iron. There is liquid iron, iron spray and iron patches. Not all of these are good choices. Then there are the various iron infusions. ferric carboxymaltose (Injectafer), low-molecular-weight iron dextran(INFed), ferumoxytol (Feraheme), iron sucrose (Venofer) and sodium ferric gluconate (Ferrlecit) to name a few.
Thank you my superstar although my RLS is under control with the Bup , it is a good reminder to stay on top of out pr iron levels .
I’m going to book an infusion this week if I can get my hands on the right kind of iron
Very Sadly the doctor who did my last infusion has been struck off for thinking outside the box for his patients he lost both his clinics and all his patients who relied on him where left to suffer.
He sent a patients test kit for Lyme disease to a world leading clinic in Germany .In Australia they don’t believe in Lyme disease and doctors are not allowed to help people who may have it.
When I was in Boston Professor John Winkleman organised a test at his hospital and at know cost for this Aussie girl. What a contrast !
Keep in mind that just because your serum iron and Ferritin levels may be high, >50% of RLS patients have no improvement after receiving iron infusions. I am one such patient. Unfortunately, the iron measured in your blood is not indicative of the iron levels that pass the blood brain barrier. Apparently, there are specialized, expensive MRI exams that can see iron levels in the brain but like the majority of humans, my brain’s iron stores won’t be determined until a postmortem examination is done. Higher iron and ferritin levels are not the “answer for RLS” that some people seem to suggest they are. Best of luck to you!!
in the beginning when I was first diagnosed with Anemia. I tried a bunch of over the counter iron supplements. Nothing worked. The doctor prescribed Liquid Ferrous Sulfate. Of course he forgot to tell me it is important to take at night on an empty stomach and not with my morning coffee. Despite that it worked, my ferritin went from 7 to over 200 in one year.
I find there is no real benefit stay above 150-200 ferritin for me.
Since then I have experimented and retested every 4-6 months. Currently I am taking Iron Bisglysinate which is probably the best choice after liquid ferrous sulfate. I have recently have added magnesium to my nightly iron and vitamin C. I will be retesting in a couple months.
I would also like to add, don’t forget Vitamin D. Vitamin D blocks Hepcidin and aids in iron absorption. The is also a correlation between iron and low Vitamin D.

Seems bit inconsistent. So I decided to test it out. I am going to do this for 3-4 months and go in for a test to see how I am doing. I will let everyone know.
Of course non-heme iron is the type we take. Unfortunately your experiment won't really show anything since even if it makes the absorption less it will still raise your ferritin and you won't know how much more it would have raised it if you took them two hours apart.
