Do I have a vitamin B problem? Or should I just keep taking vitamins from the health food shop?
Hi, I've hopped over here from the ThyroidUK forum on Healthunlocked as I recently had a vitamin B test and would like to ask you about it. Recently I'd been taking an Adrenal supplement which I found immediately reduced the severity of my anxiety. I looked at the label and it had high doses of

A Better Life Without Sugar
How Sugar Can Ruin Your Life May 18th, 2009 Dangers of SugarIf you think it’s an exaggeration to say that something as common as sugar or refined carbohydrates can ruin your life, perhaps you should give more consideration to the excessive amounts of it that many people are consuming and the harmful

Disappointing run....
I struggled with my run again this morning. It wasn't a disaster, I did a 2min38 second walk to warm up, then ran for 30 minutes and the last seven-ish minutes were a mixture of walking and running. There was a flat section where I tried to concentrate on lengthening my stride a bit but my legs felt

Genetic Mutations?
Since Dr. Hughes is on the cutting edge of this disease, and since some of you have seen him, I am wondering if he routinely requests genetic testing after a diagnosis of APS is made. I ask because there is something called an MTHFR mutation that can frequently be present in people with APS. I am

oral thrush for a year and a half
Hello all I am having a rotten time of it with oral thrush. I have had it for about 18 months, and have had course after course of nystatin, amphotericin, and fluconazole. It just won't go away, no matter what. I have always used a spacer when I take my steroid inhaler, always swill my mouth with water

Update - now I'm 18 weeks pregnant (vit B supplements)
Hi everyone, just a little follow up from me. As you may recall I've been through the mill a bit with my GP as he refused to increase my thyroxine now I am pregnant. My TSH went from 2.49 to 1.9 to 3.28 and I wrote on here alarmed as I was nearing the 4.2 NHS range upper level. I have been patient

Blog #2 - So, What About TSH, FT4 and FT3?
OK, if you are on thyroxine (T4) only and you feel fine - lucky you. Most people who are given T4 only seem to do OK on it and if they don't feel completely perfect than at least they feel 'good enough' This is probably not the case if you are a member of this forum. So, if you're on T4 and not feeling

Is there a link between Endometriosis and Coeliac Disease?
Some schools of thought e.g. Endometriosis UK say that it is still being researched and maybe a form of auto-immune disease. Given that women (and men although much less!) can have Endometriosis and it's often mis-diagnosed as IBS what have members found themselves? It's often more than just 'painful

A CRY FOR HELP
As many of you are only too aware the doctors can only do so much for us and it’s really up to us to 'help ourselves” 6 years ago my symptoms worsened dramatically. Around that time desperate for any help, I started to explore every possible avenue. After the 'very fortunate suggestion of an acquaintance

Mouth Ulcers
Many lupus sufferers get mouth/nose ulcers. I thought I would share a couple of articles that I wrote a few years back on mouth ulcers. The pieces were written before I was diagnosed with lupus and they are aimed at anyone with mouth ulcers (the articles are not specific to lupus). The link between
