Hi, I have just had a phone call from Endocrinologist saying she thinks I should be on treatment for thinning bones. I’m ET JAK 2 positive. A bit worried about more medication on top of hydroxy, clopidogrel and amitriptyline. I’ve never been one for medication and it seems to be multiplying.

Just a moan
Hi all, I just need somewhere to moan at the moment. I was off work for 3 and half weeks due to unusual pain and a flare up for me. Whilst I was off during that time I had a hospital rheumatology telephone on the 16th Nov. I told her I was not sleeping due to being in so much pain. She prescribe me 10mg

Arthritis pain, my pain meds include pregablin 50mg twice a day and 20mg of amitriptyline at night I also take co codomol for the pain, the pregablin is for nerve pain due to a failed carpal tunnel surgery. Symbicort and Baltus
Take both these powdered medications and I'm sure both these are leaving a residue at back of my throat as neither of them seem to work. I don't think it's getting down far enough. In the mornings I have a very coated tongue and have to use a scraper with quite disgusting residue. Ive tried everything

Is there any member who is taking methotextate in addition to Pred ? If so how are you managing and with what side effects? Anyone on Amitriptyline ?

Hi all, I’ve been on a 3 year journey off morphine with the help of a substitute, buprenorphine, gradually decreasing to a final dose of 0.2mg on Sunday. The last two nights have been hell, culminating in a bottle of tonic water, 60 mg amitriptyline and 10 of diazepam over a 4 hour period last night.

Side effects from preventative medicine.
Hi! I am struggling to find a preventative as I seem to be very sensitive to even small amounts of many of them. My problem is the side effects affect me to the point I can’t get to work or take my children to school, so I am unable to stick with them. Always feel like a failure that I can’t tolerate

Shifting location of GCA pain during eating
I am a 76 yr old man, adequately fit and usually very healthy. One month ago, I phoned my doctor who had me in within two hours, put me on 60mg steroids, amitriptyline, omeprazole and 75mg aspirin and sent off blood for testing. The results, unfortunately, confirmed her diagnosis of GCA. I have been

Amitriptyline - a good idea?
Hi everyone, I’ve been having bad times experiencing constant head pains, ringing & hissing, numb feelings across left side of head and also weird pulses that are happening. It is all ruining my experience and enjoyment of life very much, and I feel desperate coping with it. My GP’s only suggestion

I don't have swelling of joints, only stiffness and clicking, plus muscle fatigue. Rheumy still considers 55 Is too young for it to be PMR?
I'm concerned that being treated for PMR with Prednisolone and Amitriptyline could well mean my true condition 🤷🏻♀️ (whatever that may be) is not being addressed. I am confident my Rheumy is knowledgeable, I just wish I could make contact with her on occasions other than consultations scheduled

Intermittent tinnitus- Is it sleep? Alcohol? Blood pressure? Medication? Anyone else have this? It's not hearing related.
So my tinnitus started 3 weeks ago. It was persistent 24/7 and hell on earth for those 3 weeks. It has now become intermittent comes one day and gone the next. I've discovered that not sleeping well and alcohol are two triggers. Does anyone else experience this? I've had my ears tested twice and no

Return of symptoms after a colposcopy
I was diagnosed with endometriosis of the pelvic wall in 2013. Symptoms included persistent lower pelvic pain (a ache/nerve pain) before a laparoscopy to laser lesion. Symptoms have been under control with the help of amitriptyline since then. However, symptoms have returned with a vengeance following

Anyone received Incapacity or incapability to work?
I have recently applied for incapacity for work on UC but I feel very negative about my chances of getting it. I learned last week that the only doctor at my surgery who had any understanding of the condition and would have provided me with decent evidence has retired a couple months ago. Had I known

My nightmare after taking Amitriptyline
I had never heard of Amitriptyline until my doctor suggested I take 1 every night to help with lower back pain....the only thing she really said was make sure to take it at night as it will make you sleepy..."Fair enough." I said and I left with my new medication to add to the collection. I am already

A quick update
Telephone consultation with Prof Dasgupta today. He was very unhappy with the higher dose of steroid I've had to increase to and wants me to get down using what he called a 'clinically recommended' taper....12.5, 10, 7.5. So, dropping 2.5mg every 4-6wks again. He also was certain after a lot of questioning
