Return of symptoms after a colposcopy

I was diagnosed with endometriosis of the pelvic wall in 2013. Symptoms included persistent lower pelvic pain (a ache/nerve pain) before a laparoscopy to laser lesion. Symptoms have been under control with the help of amitriptyline since then.

However, symptoms have returned with a vengeance following a colposcopy. I had have smears and internal ultrasounds since my laparoscopy with no issues. I had a colposcopy, where a vinegar/acidic solution was used to show up any abnormal cells but, as none were found, no treatment (laser or biopsy) was needed. It seems to me that something had aggravated the scar tissue or any new lesions which haven’t been problematic until now. Has anyone had a similar experience following a smear or colposcopy?
