Went to Dr today
So, after being diagnosed PBC/AIH overlap syndrome, my GI put me on prednisone (10mg long term) along with the Urso and Atarax. My last blood tests on Monday showed my levels elevated but still dropping. My bilirubin is at 6.9 now. Saw my PC this morning and asked him if he could see my liver biopsy.

I'm new - worried about auto-immune hepatitis
Hi everyone A month ago I went for a routine blood test which found my liver functioning was abnormal. My GP and hepatologist confirmed it is not any form of hepatitis or glandular fever, which they originally thought it would be. Given that my mother has rheumatoid arthritis, they are now testing

Topiramate and Levothyroxine.
Hi My daughter has to take Topiramate for migraines. She was started on 50mcg. levo. as her TSH was 6.3. Six week later when she had her bloods redone her TSH had only fallen to 5.8. She did some research and found out that Topiramate can have an effect on thyroid meds. and wondered if this was the reason

Air embolism with compressed air
At my work place we have loads of compressed air guns that we use for our jobs, before today I was unaware how dangerous air embolisms actually are. After my shift at work I would use it to clean the dust of my clothes, I started messing about with it and pointed it at a bite on my arm, it popped the

Thinning hair with PBC? Urso side effects?
This is a random post and my first. After almost 3 years of symptoms, I was FINALLY diagnosed with PBC. I had been on Imuran because they thought it was autoimmune hepatitis, but my livers enzymes actually doubled while I was on it. Iāve also been on Prednisone for almost 5 months and am in the process

Taking Aspirin for Your Heart? How to Make It Even More Effective?
There has been some press lately, at least in the USA on adding rivaroxaban (Xarelto) to your daily aspirin regimen, as a result of new studies. I am sure some of you have seen this press. I intend to raise the issue with my cardiologist, in that I am taking Xarelto, so I need to ask him should I add

Head itching
Does anyone know whether head itching is a PD symptom? My head itches especially when I go to sleep. I see no dandruff and use dandruff shampoo. I went to the dermatologist who gave me a special shampoo with no change in itching. Can it be reaction to neupro parch? I stopped the neupro which helped

Lupus & Lung Problems
I'm new to the forum. Have been in the process of reducing my meds, now taken for last 10 years -they are methotrexate, prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine, along with other stuff for heart & BP. They have kept me well over the last 2-3 years esp. Now find that I have 'shrinking lung syndrome'! Seems

Is it safe to eat Grapefruit while taking certain medication?
Hi all. I absolutely love grapefruit but just looking some advice if grapefruit is safe to eat with certain medication as I've heard that it can work against them. I've been diagnosed with PBC & AIH and therefore have a mixture of tablets to take. My meds are Rifampicin, Prednisone, Omeprazole, Ursodeoxycholic
