Hi ladies Thank you so much for your kind replies last week. We have just found out that mum actually has PPC and not ovarian cancer......she has to have second line chemo as there are specks like rice grain on her peritoneum. They are giving her carboplatin and gemcitabine. Has anyone had this regime

Errant Results
I went to my last liver outpatients clinic on 20th April last and didn't see my usual doctor but one of his registrars. I then had the relevant blood tests for my AIH. I know my bloods are not perfect and there has been discussion of whether my steroids should be increased dependent on how my results

New Projects!
Why is it that when I read any articles about 'doing something up on a limited budget' they begin to waffle on about paint that costs twice as much as ordinary emulsion and special crackle finishes...then finishing off by rubbing with a soft cloth and beeswax. These are kitchen cupboards from Argos matey

Going off Ibrutinib: should we be worried?
Hi everyone. My husband was due to go in for a stem cell transplant this week but it has been delayed as he wasn't well on the day. Due to a theatre being unavailable for the donor (for taking cells from bone marrow), it's been put back two weeks. This means my husband will now be off Ibrutinib for

PMR and Phlebitis
Has anyone else been treated for phlebitis who also has PMR? I had the diagnosis yesterday from a vascular surgeon. I am having the vein in my upper thigh sorted out next month using a local anaesthetic, VNUS I think the procedure is called. I am currently on 10mg of pred, is it a good idea to increase

Hair loss
Can anyone recommend something to help with loss of hair from the large doses of prednisone. I am taking 1200 mg of Biotin which I think helps, just wondering if anyone over there knows of anything else, foods? Topical stuff, shampoo or anything?

The Real Ireland...
There's Irish and then there's Irish... Decent Irish music is played in dubious 'pubs down back alleys...nothing happens until twelve at night and then the musicians come through the back door...half-cut already...carrying battered fiddle cases and stained bodhrans they lurch towards the bar and demand

Hello fellow members, Please can I post some information (without my Charity hat on) as I have just seen this on Facebook and it is quite worrying as i believe some misinformed First Aid training is also mentioning this. There has been an Urban Myth circulating (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_legend

Problems after catheter ablation
in late 2011 I suspected I may have persistent AF. I had suddenly become fatigued climbing stairs and even got tired during the warm up for a game of tennis. This was confirmed by a consultant and I was started on Warfarin. A cardioversion was performed July 2012, my rhythm returned to normal and I felt
