Hi. I'm new to this site but grateful to have found the enormous amount of useful info. PMR took ages to diagnose due to hip fracture and dynamic screws op at beginning of year - everything was put down to that. Osteoporosis (DEXA scan) diagnosed and AA prescribed. Bouncing round on steroids (not complaining about the miracle of this drug) but unable to sleep and pulling muscles... The info here has led me to contact Dr today to request some sleep aid. I have a much clearer understanding about my condition and expectations having joined this community.

Hi pongo
Glad you found this great resource. I have found that sleep more restful as pred comes down but have had sleeping aid too. Having deep sleep is a requirement for me especially since PMR. I used to sleep 5 hours a night and be reasonably okay. I get around 7 now. Really my body likes 9hrs which feels really weird to say and, on rare occasions, do.hope you get some restful sleep π»
Hi, its 3:30 am, and Iβm still not asleep. Have alarm set for 7am, things to do in morning. π³
4 years into PMR and on 3.5 mg pred, was hopeful that sleep would improve at lower doses... rare that I sleep all night, so treasure them.
On the bright side, we are in midst of meteor shower, and sky is dark and clear...so spectacular ...might as well enjoy the showπ
Kind regards, jerri
Can't believe I forgot about the shower!!
Hi Pongo and welcome to the forum. I hope you find it the great support that I have over the months. That wired feeling does wear off ( I quite missed it) I take 10 mgs of Amitriptylin an hour before bedtime. This seems to get me a few hours of consecutive sleep at least.
Thanks for the support! I am waiting for the Dr to get back to me!
Amitriptylene collected! Fingers crossed I don't see the meteor shower! Night night.
