Anyone have a low bone density result from a Dexascan mine came back low which was a shock my last one was normal just a few years ago although it was done at a different hospital which my GP says can make a difference. More bloods required to check calcium and parathyroid I will not be palmed off I need answers, got my liver stable thanks to URSO and careful diet, calcium next. Any comments from you guys welcome

I also have osteopenia (forerunner of osteoporosis) which was diagnosed by a dexa scan. Over the years my bone density has been getting slowly worse, despite all efforts in terms of ingesting extra calcium and exercising. My last ditch attempt to halt the deterioration is to have HRT patches! Will have to wait a couple of years until next scan to see the results, but in the meantime I’m feeling a lot chirpier! Good luck, Biddy, with your researches.

Biddyb,

When you say that URSO has got your PBC stable what do you mean if I can ask?

I started URSO in March this year, but the only numbers that have ever been high is my alk-phos. That and my AMA M2. Ever since I've been on URSO nothing has changed. My alk-phos fluctuates between 135 and 178. But at least everything else has remained in normal range. I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

Hi just mean that my LFT readings have settled down from yo-yo readings over the last 8 years. My consultant seem to make a big deal about ALP & ALT levels when you read some of the comments on this site re the levels they seem a lot higher than mine. Saw my GP today who can't understand the fuss he seems to think that the readings are just a little raised but nothing to worry about due to taking URSO , trying to get to the bottom of my other problems, back for bloods tomorrow to re test calcium and parathyroid

Yes, I have had more serious problems! Because of osteoporosis (aggravated by PBC) we have fractured with three spine compression ... recently, we have done vertebroplasty to solve these problems. I'm fine now with the backbone, but iv anesthetics have harmed my liver ... I hope God helps me get through this new test ... I wish you all, health and beware of you! Sorry if my English is not ok ....
