Hi So today was day 3 of no bowel movement, been taking 1 senna morning and night then also today took 5mg of bisacodyl. Around 8pm I had the worst stomach pain and cramps and had to run to the bathroom. Once I realised the plug (well that’s what it felt like) I was then like a tap, felt like my insides

Taking Boron
Have decided to try taking Boron. Want to avoid taking medication although I do take vitamins D and K 2. Any advice please on dosage and best place to buy? I also have some osteoarthritis - mainly in neck and I have read that it can help here too. Grateful for any thoughts!

Full-on Christmas
Merry Christmas all. I have an ABI since 2009. God yesterday (xmas day) was hard and exhausting. The noise, the excitement, the busyness, the overeating. I have to take an hour rest every day. Yesterday I needed two rests. This evening I made the ultimate mistake. I took out a Where's Wally jigsaw that

Sudden change of management
Hi. Firstly I must mention how grateful I am to have found this group. I’ve been feeling very isolated, frightened and alone. I am 62, I was diagnosed with ET 16 years ago. I’ve been managed on daily aspirin all this time. Honestly, I’ve hardly thought about my condition all these years. I’ve been monitored

Obstructive defecation
I have posted about this before but make no apologies for flagging it up again. I have a long history of IBS but about 6 years ago I started having problems passing a motion even when it was soft - needing to go many times a day and never feeling that I was empty. I saw endless specialists and the

Hello from the newby
Hello. I was diagnosed just over thirty years ago after feeding extreme pain all over my body. I have an injury in my leg caused by football, where a piece of my bone fractured and as I grew up, it grew out. I had an operation called an Exostosis Removal of the bone and just in time too as it was going

Constipation vs obstipation?
I'm still not clear on the difference. In my case PD causes difficulty evacuating the bowels. Without treatment what ultimately comes out is...massive. Forcing it out there's constant fear of something tearing inside. Using colace the stools were less frightening meaning they were smaller

COVID-19 Mortality, Hospitalization Risk Higher in Patients With Blood Cancers
We've discussed this often here. This is the latest from ASH 2021. Of interest: <<Patients with MPN and plasma cell dyscrasia had less severe COVID-19 illness overall compared to patients with CLL, leukemia, MDS, or lymphoma.>> https://www.pharmacytimes.com/view/covid-19-mortality-hospitalization-risk-higher-in-patients-with-blood-cancers

Update
HI my friends! I have now seen my MPN specialist twice. I was back to see him in Nashville on November 29. My diagnosis has changed from ET to PV which is what I kept thinking (since April)! My HCT was at 47.5, so I had my first phlebotomy of 500MLs. Yahoo! I had been begging my previous Dr to do this

Possible way GCA can turn on.
I was watching a YouTube channel yesterday that had to do with women getting fillers on their face. The doctor was teaching a class and had a woman in the chair and he was marking up her face for the fillers and was extremely careful about showing exactly where needles cannot be hit on our face because

Thought I’d update on my last post: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/147181339/four-months-on-levo-maybe-a-dip?responses=147192238 I went to my GP and it was no issue at all to get increased dose. I’m on 75mg now. The only problem was when I asked about brands. She said she doesn’t decide

Slow transit constipation
Hi there, Calling all sufferers, and wanted to ask what works for you and if senna is the only thing that gets things moving for you? I have been suffering with slow transit constipation since having my daughter with a c-section. I’m pretty sure it was the stomach surgery that’s caused it. I’ve spent

Has anyone got any tips on coming off picosulphate? We thought we’d done a good slow reduction .5ml every few days but we now seem to be going backwards again.
